So I've been playing implosion and am quite impressed with what a fun little game it is and oddly enough I turn my nose up at mobile phone games because I can't stand touch controls but still think there are some extremely good mobile games that would be so much better with buttons and on a TV.
The switch is a perfect fit for these games because you can take em on the go or chill in your living room
But it got me thinking what others would be better suited to the switch and here's a few I'd like
Dead effect 1 & 2
Blade slinger
God fire
N.O.V.A (latest one)
Dead trigger
Reaper.
Brave Frontier.
Duel Monsters.
Maple Story.
There was one other game I had that I can't remember the name of but it was very similar gameplay wise to Brave Frontier. Except you had control over one character (your own) and the rest of the units were other online players. Usually.
Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.
I only play a couple of games on my mobile, Quiz Up which I play with my mate and Darts Match 2 which I'm hooked on.Neither game is really suitable for Switch though.
Warbits is terrific, if you're looking to fill that Advance Wars on Nintendo hole. Aside from that, there are some really excellent mobile games, but Implosion is one of the rare examples of a great action game that would be even better with physical controls. Games like Sorcery or The Room would gain nothing from being on Switch, and the best mobile 2D platformers like Goblin Sword face too much competition on Nintendo.
That said, King Rabbit would be a great puzzle game on any platform, and something like Death Road to Canada (yeah, I know it came to Steam first, but it's by mobile developers) fits that Binding of Isaac niche of grown-up indies.
From games available in ios/android. Mostly Console/PC ports. Final Fantasy VII, XI, Knights of the old republic, The world ends with you, Rome total war
Sorry but they are better that the games available for Mobile
Pokemon Go and Mario Run... yes pls
Angry Birds 2, clash of clans, eggs inc etc are cool if they are free 2 play...
Hmmm, thinking again, the trouble with some of these is that they're actually either better on mobile, or at least won't be improved by switching to Switch. I adore The World Ends With You: Solo Remix, but the game was reworked to function (perfectly) as a touchscreen game, and I can't imagine it working better with physical controls - which means it wouldn't translate that well when the Switch is in the dock.
SE's GO series is great, but the move to Switch wouldn't enhance it. Similarly, the joy of Angry Birds is in dragging your finger back.
Implosion is one of the few high-end mobile games that, while really well designed for touch controls, was always crying out for physical controls. Some of the twin-stick iOS shooters would be welcome, though. Neon Chrome is already on its way to Switch, but Leap of Fate and Feral Fury would also work well.
I'd also put forward Wayward Souls and Mage Gauntlet, which do 8-bit adventure just like Kamiko - but do it far, far (FAR!) better.
And two personal favourites, 9th Dawn I and II - because the Switch needs more RPGs.
Actually Implosion is pretty good. It reminds me of old late 90's early '00s PC games that were clearly second-tier budget but still big publisher-released games and were usually pretty cool. I'm getting a Dungeon Siege kind of vibe from it.
More importantly though it doesn't really seem like a mobile game. In fact I'm really not sure how it could ever have worked on mobile at all. The button mappings seem kind of required for reasonable play. It seems to me like a game that was designed and made for console/PC,, but without a publisher and a larger budget they had to release on mobile just to gain the money and momentum to actually get published properly. I have a hard time thinking of that as a mobile game but rather a console game that had to release it's mobile port first for the funding.
