Topic: Minecraft Bedrock Edition

How are people finding it so far? Mines crashing every now and again. Nice to have the ability for cross-platform play. Nice to have more in the shop [BUT STILL NO DR.WHO SKINS!]. Game looks a little better and the underwater update is great`

I dislike that if I keep the a button pressed for more than one nanosecond, the cursor takes only one or two units instead of the entire stack (in the inventory and chests).

I dunno...I thought I would be able to use my own custom skin here. Nope still have to buy packs...ugh. Really don't get why console games have the custom stuff taken out, where on PC you can do whatever you want.

Well, on pc and mobile you need to access the system's storage and load a skin image. They probably don't want to compromise consoles by leaving a door open or something.

This release should come with a few free skin packs though. The update added the dlc that came with the switch version to my microsoft account.

I wonder if they'll add realms to this one though. I was surprised to find they weren't there on day 1.

I really thought that for this update we'd get the same packs in the shop that the PC, PS4, Wii U and Xbox have but no. As for the coins, it's like being back in the days of the Wii shop!

Looked around, apparently custom skins will happen eventually. So...maybe I can finally be one of my favorite anime girls. (...again) lol

@Joeynator3000 ohh, really? I'd just assumed custom mods was something you wouldn't get on a console version.

What about this whole Microsoft/Xbox account thing? Does this mean if I play on a different platform with the same account then I'll be able to access my saved worlds there?

Not the same worlds, those are local (except paid online realms).

But you will share the DLC between all the systems. I believe you also need one to play online.

@YorkshireNed I figured it would be something like old Minecraft on PC. Where you have an account on their website and you upload the skin there, then it shows up in-game. Anyways I just hope it happens in some way, it's irritating that I hear that we finally get custom stuff on console versions......only to find out that it's stuff you have to buy from certain sellers. Ugh...

I think it is inferior to Nintendo Switch Edition. The textures look worse, I am not a fan of the new (and I would say not console optimised) UI, and it just feels like Pocket Edition. If I wanted to play Pocket Edition, I would buy Minecraft on my phone. I do not want to play Pocket Edition over a superior Console version that I already own.

I agree for the most part though I'd argue it's still just as playable. Just not the big new and much better version I thought we were getting.

Anyone knows how to play multiplayer on Switch with iPhone with one Microsoft account? Is there a way to transfer my worlds from iPhone to Switch?
Sorry for stupid questions but I was looking forward to play with my kids - them playing on TV split screen and me playing on iPhone but I can’t figure it out

Cant transfer worlds unfortunately, they're stuck on whichever device they were created on. In terms of cross play, im not sure on that one, haven't managed to test it, but when I get my Switch back, I will give it a go.

You'll likely need a different windows account for each system. And add them as friends.

About the UI, to be honest it's pretty much identical to the one I had active in the console edition. If anything I wish I could resize to make it bigger because all the icons are too small in handheld mode.

@Yosheel I tried out the Windows 10 version using the same account as on the Switch. When I checked the store for the Norse Mash-Up pack I'd bought, it was wanting me to pay again. Still, early days I guess. At least Windows 10 doesn't have Dr Who skins either.

Had my Switch back yesterday, played the updated version, standard to what's on Xbox. It's weird earning achievements on Switch and hearing them ping. haha!

The crafting in the new version does take some getting used to compared to what it was, but it's kind of a mix of DIY PC crafting and having the choice to just have it their ready to click. I likes.

If you have your Xbox account logged into a computer you get to hear the achievement jingle twice.

Everything is great for me, but the audio in handheld mode is very quiet.
