Famitsu has revealed a new Mighty Gunvolt game for the Switch and 3DS. It will have a character growth system, and some sort of "Burst Combo" feature, which could be this game's equivalent of the kudos system from the main Azure Striker Gunvolt games.
There's also a small amount of gameplay footage (about four seconds) from the latest episode of The Cat Mario Show at the 8:19 mark:
I actually didn't get around to picking up the first Mighty Gunvolt on the 3DS, but I'm a fan of the other Gunvolt games so I'll definitely pick this up on Switch.
Guys, has the Ekoro update arrived for the Switch version? I can't find it anywhere on the eshop for the 3DS and from what I know it was supposed to come ou today for both.
@OdnetninAges Thanks mate! I'm actually aware of the situation but it's appreciated. In fact, I just did a twitter account to reply precisely to that message
I forgot to post something about here so it definitely helped that you showed their message.
Man, wouldn't it be funny if people gave millions of dollars to a company to make a Megaman-like game, and then a year later an undermarketed 8-bit game with the same IP was vastly better received?
They were too ambitious with the low budget they had with Mighty N°9. I'm afraid Bloodstained will follow the same path.
Mighty Gunvolt Burst could be renamed Megaman 11. It's exactly what it is. If you like Into Creates games you should play Azure Striker Gunvolt 2. The new character Copen makes this game a masterpiece as good as the best Megaman X imo. His gameplay is a mix of Megaman and Rocket Knight.
@bitleman I hardly qualify what they tried to do as "too ambitious" since even in concept it was pretty much a megaman game with modern visuals. All they needed was to respect the concept art they showed a bit more, deliver a way more polished product after being delayed so many times, use the talent in voice acting they had where it mattered and be consistent with the quality and respect the people that supported you by not hiring someone that insulted them, not starting another kickstarter without any shame and by not doing a trailer so bad it was reaaaaally bad. Delivering or at least not promising so much to the kickstarters would have helped too. They had everything to deliver something closer to the product they wanted, not a subpar product that feels mediocre by any game standards.
To be fair, this is supposed to be a sequel to a quite short game that was released as a small companion piece to the original Azure Striker Gunvolt. I imaging that the Mighty no. 9 stuff was only in there to promote that game as well (which wasn't out yet at the time), and with this being a sequel with quite a bit more content, it'd make sense to bring back the MN9 IP as well, otherwise this mini-series loses a bit of its identity. They even brought Ekoro, a character that debuted in the west with the original Mighty Gunvolt, back as DLC.
To our 3DS Mighty Gunvolt Burst players in North America, we sincerely apologize for the issue with the update file and DLC not appearing in the eShop when it was supposed to.
We worked with Nintendo of America to fix the problem, and can say with 100% certainly that the patch will be on the eShop when it updates on August 3rd at 9am Pacific Time.
Since the patch will be releasing one week later than anticipated, the free download period for Ekoro on the North American 3DS eShop will start on August 3rd and go for two weeks from that date through August 16th. Please note that this extension of the free download period only applies to the 3DS in North America, and nowhere else.
New DLC is being released on Thursday! Ray, Copen, and Kurona.
Love the new playstyles these characters bring to the table! Ray reminds me of Mega Man Zero (and the added effect of her taking damage over time is interesting), Copen can copy boss abilities just like in Gunvolt 2, and Kurona even has a bit of Scrooge McDuck / Shovel Knight in her.
Also, according to the website, players can still get Ekoro for free by playing the brand new demo with her and then transferring over the save data to the full version.
Started playing this game today and I love it. Seems a bit on the tough side especially the bosses but I am guessing I need to learn the order and patterns of the bosses.
I like the customization of the shots but do they do anything other than change the appearance. Like does the spark shot do more damage against water enemies?

Got a bit more time on it today and beat my first boss. Don't know his name but it's the guy that teleports around the room and has a bunch of different shots. Also went back through his level looking for the hidden items. So far I am really enjoying this game alot. And with all the customization it's going to keep me busy for awhile.
