Topic: Melee HD... Make It Happen Nintendo

We love melee. But the graphics are not that good in my taste. I'd like to have a official HD remake. Nintendo can make just about anything happen. I mean they made Windwaker HD. That's from the gamecube. It got ported to the wii u. How about melee ported to the switch?

Doubt it would happen, we'll most likely get a Deluxe version of Smash Wii U and Melee via VC.

The current HD Smash is the Wii U version, which is the one that will probably be ported to Switch. Plus, Sakurai really dislikes Meele due to how obnoxious the competitive community turned out, so I doubt he would interested in revisiting that game.

While it would be nice if Nintendo could do this for the Melee fanbase, I don't think it would make much sense from a business perspective. Remaking an older iteration of a multiplayer-focused game is a very different proposition from putting out Wind Waker HD. Releasing Melee HD would seriously confuse the casual audience and would encourage feuding between Melee and Smash 4 fans (I'm sure many of the former would take it as an "admission" of something being wrong with Smash 4). It's a shame that Melee's gameplay style has been left behind, but it would be very difficult to bring back without making a huge mess.

Nah, Brawl was better. Either way I'd rather a new game.

Power stone would be a nice online fighter.....if not a new one, a remaster of the dc one would work.

Just cross your fingers for a GameCube VC which would most likely come with a release of the classic Melee. I'd rather see a port of the WiiU Smash with some fan-favorite stages taken from the 3DS version of the game that hadn't been in the WiiU original. Let's hope E3 will bring something along those lines.

They should release Melee HD, but have Brawl mechanics just to troll them.

I would laugh if this happened.

1) Release Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U for the Switch (a 'Deluxe' version, just like Mario Kart 8).

2) Plonk Super Smash Bros. Melee onto the Virtual Console when the VC service is finally up and running.

3) Therefore both Nintendo and the Melee fans wins; the former for the money they would receive, and the latter to keep a competitive community very happy.

4) they fix all the glitches in melee and rebalance the characters to fit the latest game.

Alternative ending:

4) the competitive community rejects the switch vc version of the game because [reason that makes no sense to us casuals].

Nintendo could also release a new Wavebird that's super rare like NES Classic Edition.

this would be my preferred choice as i did not own a Wii U

I'm more inclined to buy a Super Smash Bros. Deluxe than a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I have Super Smash Bros. for Wii U but I never got any of the DLC and I never got Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.

If they

• put all modes and stages and features from the Wii U and 3DS versions into one game
• and put all the DLC in there!
• and add a few new fighters and arenas (like Young Link and Pichu, an Inkling, and an ARMS fighter)
• and call it Super Smash Bros. Deluxe and not Super Smash Bros. for Switch or some other ugly name.
  then I'd jump out and buy it first day

They can pull an Activision, make it preorder only and stuff it with DLC and micro transactions. Get with the times Nintendo!

I can't see a Gamecube VC ever happening. Nintendo surely see more money to be made from HD re-releases ala Wind Waker, etc.

I'd love to see it happen though. The series has since gone downhill.
