KH HD ports would be great.

Chrono Trigger sequel would be one of those moments when gaming world would just go absolutely bonkers.

I don't need ports of games on other systems - if I want to play them I'll get those systems.

This is part of their red sea-blue sea strategy. Don't compete with your competition, be different and offer something different. A Kingdom Hearts port will not convince a single person to buy a Switch. However an exclusive co-developed Chrono Trigger 2, Mario RPG 2, Secret of Mana 2.............games that like that would set the Switch apart and potentially entice people to buy the console.

I mean, they technically already made Secret of Mana 2...

And by technically I mean the only reason it isn't called that is because it wasn't released here

Many people think exactly like you do. And many think differently. I would love to have KH2 portable and play it again. I would love Final Fantasies on Switch just to play them through again.

Would Chrono 2 be even better? Absolutely.

Think the difference between Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XII

@Timppis But I can and do play those games on Playstation.

I love my switch, I've played it almost exclusively since I bought it.

But it isn't as powerful as what Sony and Microsoft are doing, and since the Wii generation (maybe the Game Cube generation) Nintendo has been seen as an "also ran" in the console space. Nintendo is successful and at its best when they are different, doing their own thing and making the current Nintendo platform a must buy because of the great, UNIQUE software it has.

Like all companies, Nintendo has finite resources, and objectively they'd be much better off putting those resources toward great, unique software then trying to position themselves as a "we have that game too" place.

I know. I could also play those games on my PS and I have played them on PS before.

But for me Switch is the portable console and as I have less and less time for actual console gaming I would love to revisit my favourite games from the past with this.

HD ports are somewhat cheap and easy to do for Switch from what I've understood, if they've been done to other systems as well. So it could be more to Switch and not away from other projects.

But can switch handle Kingdom Hearts 3? Would it be the lesser version of the game? And as I said, what won't get made because they decided to commit resources to that HD port?

if Square Enix decides to do it on their own......cool. But should Nintendo commit their resources to getting ports of games on other systems? No, thats now or why they are successful.

@Canadian_Ronin

Oh I don't think they will make KH3 on Switch. I absolutely don't think Switch could handle it.

I just want the HD remixes of the earlier games.

Apples and oranges on our part it seems

No, Kingdom hearts 3 was just one part of what I said. The line I'm responding to is - "I seriously hope they pay Square Enix to do a KH3 port" - and this is absolutely the wrong way (and this applies to a port as well) for Nintendo to spend their resources.

Aonuma also said he was interested in a new IP where you play as a thief. That'd be interesting to see.

Someone of you here with a far vaster library of lesser-known games on the brain will probably point out an example of this, but I'd love to see a colorful, cartoony take on the stealth genre. Maybe it features an anthro-
raccoon with a penchant for trespassing and stealing from everyday suburban houses and establishments.

Peek-a-boo

1080° Snowboarding
Animal Crossing
Donkey Kong
F-Zero
Luigi's Mansion
Paper Mario (a proper Paper Mario game please)
Pikmin
Pilotwings
Super Mario Strikers (forget Mario Tennis, Party and Golf... this is the one that needs to happen!)
Wario Land/World
WarioWare Inc. (or even a new Rhythm Heaven/Paradise)
Wave Race

There are plenty of series that Nintendo can return to, some of which haven't been seen on a home platform since the GameCube days.

I wish they would give the non-platforming Mario games a rest for a little while and go back to their other games, like 1080° Snowboarding, F-Zero, Pilotwings and Wave Race that have been lying dormant for years.

Switch is objectively worse than the GBA, DS, Wii and 3DS until the day it gets a Rhythm Heaven, let's be honest. (half-serious)

Final Fantasy X-2 is not how I'd sell the idea of making a direct sequel to Secret of Mana.

Or pretty much any direct sequel to a Final Fantasy game.

@KirbyTheVampire Color Splash was great, it's everything that Sticker Star needed to be and wasn't

@xPH03N1Xx86 I believe Colour Splash exists in a state that is better than Sticker Star, but still absolutely rubbish.

@Octane As someone who has played since the N64 Paper Mario, and couldn't stand Sticker Star, I have to disagree. Colour Splash is so much better, it's writing is witty and well done, the set pieces and environments are beautiful, combat manages to not be a chore like Sticker Star, and overall it's just a better game. I'd put it at my 3rd favorite Paper Mario, behind TTYD and the Original.
Everyones entitled to their opinion, but I had a blast with it

It is better than Sticker Star, but I don't think it's anywhere close to TTYD. I really dislike where they've taken the series in the past few entries compared to what it was in the first two games. The Paper Mario universe has such great potential to make some amazing story and character based RPGs, rather than what we've been getting. To each his own, though. The video below basically sums up my thoughts on the series. (Keep in mind the video was made before Color Splash came out and was in response to the initial Color Splash reveal, but his thoughts didn't really change after he played it and did a review on it)

@KirbyTheVampire I sort of agree about it not being close to TTYD, but it's still a good game.
That said, I would also like a Paper Mario (maybe for Switch?) in the same style of the first two. I loved the unique partners, and the first two are some of my favorite games ever

@xPH03N1Xx86 That Bandit Shy Guy single-handedly ruined the game for me. The game wants you to fill in all the white spots (it's called Colour Splash after all), but then introduces a mechanic that undoes all of your work. Big nope. I tossed it in the bin, where it belongs.
