Looking at getting a Nintendo Switch and would really like to get mario kart deluxe for the 4 player split screen. I had read somewhere that you cannot just buy 4 controllers and use them as a normal gamepad you have to detach the ends (joy cons i think there called) and use them?
Firstly how easy is this to play with the joy cons on this? Im coming from ps4, xbox and n64 back in the day and cant imagine racing with the small joy con?
Secondly i read you can use Pro controllers and it will work, again is this correct?
Last question which do people prefer a small joy con or pro controller for Mario Kart?
Each player can use a single Joy-Con, or two Joy-Cons attached to a grip, or a Pro Controller. It's just that single Joy-Cons for everyone is by far the cheapest option, since the system comes with two of them and you can buy a pack of two more. They aren't the ideal controllers but they're not as uncomfortable as you might think. I can play with one just fine.

Ok thanks thats what I thought just wanted to confirm. Yeah getting 4 x Pro controllers is far too pricey. I think il get another set of joy cons to start with and in the future im sure some company will b ring out 3rd party controllers at better price
