Topic: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe AI

Hello all!

I've been playing MK 8 Deluxe for quite some time now and have been wondering why the race ends when the player crosses the finish line?
Let's say you finish 1st, the game will show you every other AI's places. But how does the game determine that? Does it take current placing into consideration or does it simulate how the AI racers might've made it to the finish line?

I've been Googling this but found nothing but topics about the AI cheating.

I'm pretty sure it just goes with their current position. If you pay attention to the map when you're about to finish, you may be able to tell. As for why, well, you don't wanna have to wait for them every time.

@UltimateTobi Yep, it just places them based on where they were when you cross the line.
