is there going to be a limited amount of nintendo switch consoles sold at launch? If so, then how many will be sold on launch. I'm talking about online not in stores by the way (amazon). Thanks!
Nintendo has said most launch day allocation is sold out due to preorders. Your best bet, if you want a Switch on launch, would be to visit physical stores at midnight and see if they have some units for walk-ins. I doubt Amazon will have extra stock until the second shipment arrives, which will be around end of March/beggining of April.

No-one knows the real availability numbers, we can only go by what individual retailers tell us, so you'll have to make your own enquiries.
