I would be EXTREMELY thankful to anyone who can help me solve this! My friends and I love playing switch during lunch at school and want to play some games that require internet. I've tried dns servers and mobile hotspots aren't even an option.
@Anti-Matter During breaks, brain breaks (a break you get for working hard enough.), lunch, and several others times, we can play games. They are specifically blocking a Nintendo redirection page that the switch has to go through in order to connect. Yet most game sites are unblocked, for some reason they decided to block it specifically.
@Eel ......... We do have some offline games but that is not the point. There are a few games I have such as warframe, warface, fortnite, etc. that we would like to play.
@Fieldowl2
You can play Switch games with Multiplayer option such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Overcooked 2, Go Vacation, etc if you cannot play the games with online connectivity.
@Fieldowl2 If your school is blocking it, and you try to use a work around, you'll be violating your school's rules and could well lose the privilege of playing games in the first place. You should be grateful any gaming is allowed at your school at all, as most kids do not have that option for a variety of very good reasons.
You can also look on the bright side, it's very likely that your school's internet isn't reliable enough to play online anyway. Most public internet connections I've used are not. Are you really going to enjoy playing those games with a bad connection anyway?

Not to sound like an old guy here but at least you can bring a Switch to school. When I was I a kid you couldn't bring a Walkman to school and if you did get caught with one that was a suspension.
But yeah as others have said try talking to the school administration and see if there is a way they can help you out. Just explain to them what you want to do just like you did here. Who knows maybe they don't even know they are blocking it.

Unfortunately, there`s no way out=( You'd better find some games that don't require an internet connection, or then play them at home. I understand that breaks can seem very long and I often lacked something to distract myself, so I just spent time on social networks... And sometimes I didn't even have time for that, cause I had to redo my homeworkXD I`m about to start my first year at asa college miami and hopefully I`ll have something to do during the breaks. Although, my older brother said that in colleges the break time goes by unnoticeably and I`ll have to get used to it. Btw, things are easier there with the internet.
So one can't get the HotSpot to work? It connects your phone to the school wifi and Switch connects through the hotspot through the phone. How would they know the Switch is Online? @Tasuki, I've seen them at shopping malls and library and on buses. I've even used my smartphone HotSpot and it works just fine.
People have been doing this for years. When I was in high school years 2004 to 2007 people used to bring GBA SP to play at lunch & study hall & play different game boy, game boy color & game boy advance games. No one said anything back then. If anything the one girl who was a foreign exchange student from Japan at the time had her bubble gum pink GBA SP while I had my red GBA SP & I asked her at the time what she was playing & it was a hello kitty game boy color game in Japanese at the time I was playing Rugrats In Paris game boy color game. We exchanged games with each other to play at lunch & had alot of fun~ 🤣👍 At the time the GBA SP was still relatively new back then. I don't think our teachers had a problem with us Gaming either because in my Air Transportation Class (I was the only girl in an all guy class) anyway's the guy's brought in Xbox & we all played Halo back then. Fun times~ 😎🔥👍
