Hi, just curious as to how you all play standard Switch games?
I had been using the 'grip' that came with the console, however from what I see it's best to keep the joy cons in each hand. Which is fine, but that wrist strap is annoying!
I almost never use the grip. Not because i don't want to; but because i have an 8bitdo snes pro , a pro controller, and a wired Power A SMB controller. So there's too many options before i use the grip. The " one in each hand" option was never comfortable for me.
Although I do wish to continuing procuring the Hori grips, I almost never use them. Using them freely in each hand is so much more comfortable and easier to control.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
@jay81uk Attached to the Switch in portable mode. Pro-controller while docked. Only very rarely do I use them in the grip - when I am playing in table top mode at the local Starbucks. I don't like bringing my pro controller with me, because the buttons get pushed in the bag and it wastes the battery and sometimes wakes the Switch up in the bag.
Oh, I guess I do use them when I play Mario Odyssey one in each hand.
@jay81uk
Depend on the games.
For ARMS in Table top / Docked mode, i use grip so i can move my fighter easily with just Left analog button.
Other Switch games, i play without grip on Table top / Docked mode.
I use the Joy-Con detached for all games, except for ARMS and Super Mario Maker 2. For ARMS, I use the wrist straps because it's a motion control game. For Super Mario Maker 2, I use the Joy-Con Grip. I don't know why, but I play that game (and only that game) better with the Grip.
Whilest I played LoZ BotW I had to use the grip for the montion detection, but now a days I play controllers disconnected one in each hand, just more comfortable I find
@jay81uk For fighting games like Smash Bros. I prefer using the grip but when it comes to any other kind of game, seperate works better for me (but honestly I typically just use play in portable mode when playing most games)
