Topic: Is the NX in general getting the Breath of the Wild treatment?

Recently, Nintendo has been trying to push it's younger talent more than they did in the past. From letting young developers create Splatoon, to bringing in fresh faces for Breath of the Wild, to even Miyamoto stating expect a new kind of Mario in a year or two. We already saw how Nintendo's young designers approached the online shooter, we're seeing how they're basically rebuilding Zelda from scratch to play more like contemporary open world games, and we can only imagine what they'll do to plumber man. With that being said, Miyamoto has also said he's taken a step back from hardware development, and announced he is not officially involved with the NX. He's looking at the hardware and overseeing the team, but he's not making any decisions or input.

Do you think this means that the NX is going to be in essence, a BotW style platform? Breath of the Wild demolishes traditional Zelda conventions, and puts them back together in a new light. Same thing Splatoon did to the modern shooter. These are both Nintendo's answers to popular genres on the market, but the still feel like Nintendo games. They're both simple, intuitive, unique and innovative. What if this will extend to Nintendo's hardware too? Were younger engeniers rethink the conventions of a Nintendo platform, look at other platforms on the market, and put their own twist on it. This could mean that the this new platform could be a complete departure from any of Nintendo's previous platforms, while still feeling like a Nintendo platform. There's going to be a new gimmick, but it will be one from a younger person. There's still going to be the philosophy that powered the Wii and DS, but it will be done with a new perspective and a newer, more modern approach. The software will feel different, the functionality will feel different, and even the way games are sold will be different. But in the end, it will still feel distinctly Nintendo.

Many assume the NX will be a relatively underpowered system with a quirky control gimmick, and in many respects, that'll most likely be true. But I feel the NX will mark a completely new direction for the company. One that's more modern and in tune with modern audiences, especially kids, while not tossing out the core philosophies that the late Satoru Iwata instilled into the company.

I'm not quite sure what you mean to be honest. With software it's fairly easy to understand what a "fresh approach" can look like. Breaking gaming conventions, genre bending and so on. That makes sense. But for hardware? .... not so much.
