the big luigi game never happened. well not on Wii U anyway.
what did we get? New Super Luigi U and Dr. Luigi.
Unfortunately the best (Luigi's Mansion 2) was made for the 3DS.
Yeah, I think they should bring Luigi's Mansion 2 to the Switch.

@SKTTR Procedural generated levels are never as good as levels designed by hand IMO. Plus, there's only so much time I want to spend in a game, no matter how good it is. I don't have an issue with ''short'' games (I don't think 20+ hours is short by the way).

Generally I like design by hand more as well, but it's not that it's always better or more fun to play.
Procedural systems can be programmed in endless different ways and they can bring the best results to certain concepts. Binding of Isaac would be boring if every dungeon was the same. It's a game that keeps being interesting because of its (well-balanced) procedural rng.
Same for This Is The Police, FTL: Faster Than Light, Pikmin 2 or the beloved F-Zero X "X-Cup". These games are fun because you can not know exactly what's up ahead. Pikmin 1 and 3 didn't give me that feeling. Pikmin 1 & 3 are the survival games, the time-limit ones, and under time pressure I don't appreciate level design as much as I'd like anyway.

@SKTTR I dunno. I like the idea of being under pressure in a Pikmin game, despite the fact that the time limits are very forgiving. I can't think of any 3D game that does that, let alone a 3D game that combines RTS elements with adventure elements. Pikmin is a unique franchise, and that's why I like the games.

They should release the Virtual Console content, but they shouldn't make a big deal about it staggering out releases that they released on VC years ago.

As for Wii U games... Yeah, I don't understand. If there is an audience for Wii U games, why in the world didn't you buy a Wii U to begin with? It was a fine console. The Switch is an awkward mid-generation system, and it really needs NEW games to make it a worthwhile investment.

I would say that there is a big market for WiiU games on a real portable device. For myself, I would buy a lot of great games again, just for the possibility to play it in trains, outside and so on.

@Harmonie It was not that fine. It was an ugly device in my opinion. I bought it and almost never used it. Also, while there are very good games on it, the old Wii games were better. Except maybe Mario Kart and Smash Bros (I never tried Wii U Smash Bos, I don't actually know if it is better or not). I already had games that I liked much more on the previous console, it wasn't worth it for me to keep using such an annoying console for what? The new Mario Kart, the new Smash Bros, and some games that yes, were good, but not as good as games I already had???

Nintendo doesn't owe Switch owners any Wii U ports. If you didn't buy a Wii U, you don't deserve most of these games. Simple as that. Tough luck. Maybe you shouldn't have let an irrational hatred for a piece of plastic get in the way of some incredible games? The Wii U is a great console, warts and all, I don't care how it sold.

Sure Nintendo doesn't owe Switch owners anything. Equally don't owe Wii U owners the privilege of being able to have played a game that didn't exist elsewhere. They're in the business of selling content to as many people as possible, they're not at all interesting in validating your purchasing decisions.

As it happens the Wii U was the least successful console since the Dreamcast. It sold about 2/3rds as many units as the Gamecube. And equally like those systems it had a handful of games which were huge successes critically. Nintendo made some good games for the system and, as a business, put a lot of money into those games. It makes business sense for them to port these games now that there is an audience for them.

If the games are so good why didn't everyone just get a Wii U then?

People don't usually buy a system just because it has one or two good games on it they like. Consoles are not an impulse buy. Most people need to be convinced by the hardware itself in addition to a promise of long term support. It just happens that the Wii U lacked that where the Switch does not.

Look, I don't need procedural levels like in Pikmin 2. I just need Pikmin 4 to be as big as Pikmin 2, procedural or not.

Anyway, I dreamt of Pikmin. xD They made it a massive online multiplayer rts to launch in Autumn alongside other online 1st party big hitters like Animal Crossing and F-Zero XX Death Race.

I wouldn't mind the Zelda HD games being ported over.

It makes business sense, but it should only be done "in stride" and shouldn't take resources from the new games.

Like, if they manage to port Tropical Freeze at some point and it never impacted the development of the new games, how does that hurt anyone or specifically you, OP?

Live and let live, brosef.

@Kylo_Ren
Yea, man. With all the Zelda hype from BotW going on right now, can you imagine how many copies Twilight Princess HD or Wind Waker HD would sell if they cropped up on the eShop in the near future? Even if they only charged like 30-40 bucks for each one. It would be insane.
