Since then, I’ve bought Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Zelda:BotW, Doom, Super Mario Odyssey, MK8D, Nine Parchments, ARMS, Immortal Redneck, Cat Quest, SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2, SteamWorld Heist, Manticore, Stardew Valley, Earth Wars, Guns Glory & Cannoli, and Sky Rogue.
With one or two exceptions, I like all of these games. I’ve only finished Cat Quest (mostly because it’s short). I’m still actively playing almost all of them.
I tried to talk myself out of getting Battle Chasers today. It almost worked. But it’s an old-school JRPG-style game. I love JRPG’s. So, it’s downloading.
I’m creating a backlog I may never be able to finish. I need to be physically restrained from purchasing any more games for a while.
...you realize saying that here is like walking into a ABC store and stating the same. We are all in the same boat. My backlog whispers to me at night. I'll call her Yume.

Thank you for sharing @Ryzaerian. Welcome to AAA. Arcade Addicts Anonymous. I'm Grail. I uhhh started playing arcade games in the 80's and it's just become a way of life. If I don't have a video game to play I can get twitchy...and get the urge to score (points that is.)
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
hi guys im mtness, and i have be diagnosed with a switch addiction , i know i have visited you all here, but to be honest i don't think i have a problem at all, i think it is healthy and positive but i do wish you all the best for your recovery.......im off battle chasers is calling my name 0.o
@Ryzaerian
1. Make a list of games that you really need to buy.
2. Watch from Youtube for checking gameplay trailer.
3. Think again if the games you want to buy are really Worthy. Compare the games with other games that have similarity.
4. Write down games that you want to buy during 1 month. Spread the list for each months. For example: Games A & B for January, Games C & D for February, Only 1 game for March due to its price, etc.
5. Calculate your purchases with your remaining money you have. Always save your money for something important than games (Food, Beverages, Medicine, Clothing, Wearable items, etc)
6. Be patient if you cannot play the games in hurry.
@GrailUK
You still play Arcade machine games ?
I still play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) Arcade until today since year 2003.
I have been playing DDR for almost 15 years and able to Clear some Lv 18 songs on Challenge difficulty.
And playing DDR Arcade is my Ritual every Sunday at TimeZone Super Mall Surabaya (DDR X2 Arcade) & Amazone Pakuwon Trade Centre Surabaya (DDR MAX 2 / 7th Mix Arcade). Both of those Arcade Center are in the same buildings, so i can visit them quickly.
Juts get what you like playing first the rest you are not sure but interest you can hold off till price drop or sales.
Most of us have backlog, lol! Nothing to worry about, lol!
I buy only what I like (usually those are instance like after I watch trailers)
Games on the fence but still a little interested, I wait for the game release and will watch gameplay (sometime repeat with no commentary) and then wait for pre-owned/ sales/ price drop.
My Brain, eyes, and fingers are not team player. They don't coordinate with each other.
My backlog is so big that I could stop buying any more Switch games today and I'd still be tackling it in 5 years. Of course that ain't going to happen so I have to face facts ,it's insurmountable so why not just keep making it bigger. I can forsee a time when the size of my 'yet to play' Switch collection rivals the entire game library of past consoles I've owned.
My arcade/Neo Geo collection alone stands at 48 titles.
I’m creating a backlog I may never be able to finish. I need to be physically restrained from purchasing any more games for a while.
That's easier said then done...I got 3DS games I need to still finish and now with NS games that makes everything even more backlog. I think going back and forth this is what makes gaming worth while so you don't get so bored out.
My gaming behaviour changed a lot this generation.
I bought almost 300 physical Wii games and bought more than 300+ Wii downloads (reached maximum download limit). I also bought 300 Wii U games (all digital) until the max limit was reached.
I was a collector. I bought every Wii and Wii U game that was praised by someone somewhere.
For Switch I bought 12 games. If I had my old habits I would have 40-50 physical games now + 100 digital. But instead of buying every good game, I now only buy games I wanna play (and have time for).
Earlier this month I completed Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (took me almost 370 hours and two playthroughs).
Yesterday I completed L.A. Noire 100% (took me around 40-50 hours).
Now I still have Skyrim (30 hours in), Doom (halfway through), and Disgaea5 (50 hours in) to fall back on.
Nowadays I enjoy having a small amount of great and huge games that can be played for months.
Zelda alone kept me busy for 2 months straight and was another 300+ hour game.
The best thing is, I still have money at the end of each month + I have a very small backlog for the system + all my games get serious playtime.
I'm often holding out for a physical release. I'm still waiting for Owlboy. But this has given me time to read reviews and reconsider. Once I have the physical I can always sell it later.
