Looking over the trailer again, it seems not everything is the same as it was previously. My Fairy for example seems to have been changed compared to Legends. Maybe closer to release more stuff will be announced like a BotW adventure map on disc or another season pass then.
Koei Tecmo has uploaded a Japanese trailer for this game.

If only they could give us one final character for all the versions of the game... When they finished adding content to the 3DS version, they left a really ugly empty space in the character selection screen.
So how is this game structured? Are there different campaigns based on different characters or games or is it all just one big chaotic mish-mash in the same set of modes?
The story progresses as usual, then after certain chapters, the spin-off stories appear. These usually take place in the same locations, but at different points in time.
For example, after you beat the chapter in the palace of twilight, a new episode for Linkle branches out of it.
The wind waker story happens after you beat the regular story.
@Ralizah There's the base story which is the Wii U version at launch and then there's 2 side stories that branch off the main story (One for Cia and one for Linkle, latter was exclusive to 3DS). There's also an extension of the main story (this was exclusive to 3DS) once you've beaten the base story and the side stories which is focused around Wind Waker.
So, after a series of weird events I now also have the switch version of this.
I feel kinda guilty buying the same game twice in such a small frame of time, but whatever what's done is done. At least I have something to play on the switch.
I thought it would be a bit annoying to start over, but I'm catching up to my 3ds version. And I still play that one too, the switch can only go so far.
Interestingly, I noticed the game tends to lag in handheld mode, even during the victory cutscenes, which is unfortunate. Also the single joycon playstyle is lacking, and it changes when on multiplayer (I set my buttons to match the Hyrule Warriors style). There doesn't seem to be a way to fix it either. Not like I'd play multiplayer too much, since it's worse regardless of the mode.
Anyway, just as I was praising the 3ds version for being so stable, I got a weird glitch where the audio for the battle introductions got all out of sync. It was funny. Thankfully it fixed itself after two intros.
Talking about the 3ds, now that I have both versions, I can say it's quite amazing just how accurate the 3ds version is. I see basically no changes in effective enemy count, everything works identically.
At the end of the Japan character trailer for this game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UDR3B7jevM) it says 3.22. It seems as that is the release date, but obviously I don't speak Japanese and it could have a different date in the West, but I'm gonna guess this is a likely date. Whenever it comes, I'll be getting it on day one.
Side note: Why is this thread just called Hyrule Warriors Switch? Wouldn't it make more sense to just say Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition?
@BezBot Japan is the only region with a confirmed release date (March 22nd), that's why I've been thinking the rest of the world is likely April. Well that and the fact Nintendo would want a traditional game releasing near Labo to stop the Labo complainers.
@Grumblevolcano Yeah that's what I was thinking, because Kirby is also releasing a week before. Plus FE Warriors came out a month later in the West too. I just want the game...
