Topic: How will you actually use your Switch (TV, around the home, outside)?

So if you're getting or thinking of getting a Switch, in percentages how will you be playing it? On a big TV, portable but in the home (e.g. On the loo), and portable out of the home (perhaps after a friendly basketball game).

For me I would guess about: 70% on a TV, 30% around the home, and 0% outside (really not my thing).

What about the rest of you?

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

ill mainly play on tv.

Mainly on the TV, but since its range isn't limited like the Wii U, I can see myself using it around the house more often. Don't think I'll take it outside, unless I'm bringing it over to someone else for multiplayer.

Between my Wii U and 3DS I can already do all three. So I know I'll probably be something like this:

20% on the TV
50% in the same room as the TV but not on the TV
25% elsewhere in the house
5% away from the house

Correct answer will be 90% at home. Alone. And I'm OK with that.

Mostly on the TV, and around the house not connected. Not sure if I would take that out the house all that much.

60% on TV
40% around house

No plans to take this thing outside, but it could happen, possibly the only case being if I were out on vacation. However there's just too many questions unanswered, like battery life, if it will come with an AC adapter, and the sturdiness of the device and how easy the controller pieces come off. I'd be scared of losing the Joy-Cons if I took this anywhere outside of my home.

Probably only ~20% out of the house.

Then about 40% in handheld mode, at home, and 40% on the TV.

I quite enjoy the intimacy of handheld devices and the Wii U gamepad!

At least 2'8".

Well, seeing as I will still need my 3DS for portable gaming. I guess I would just use a Switch for around the house gaming, since I don't get to use the TV very often.

@Octane Because the Switch won't easily fit in my pocket.

@DefHalan Looks about the same size as a 3DSXL to me. I don't think it's actually that big.

@Octane The analog sticks and the fact the screen isn't protected are going to make it harder to carry.

I never understand these scenarios when companies advertise their products.

People eat, drink, mingle and (sometimes) dance on rooftops, not playing a flipping computer game!

Me?

It looks ridiculously big to take outside of the house so:

On an aeroplane = 0%
Outside in the garden = 0%
Rooftop parties = 0%
At home = 100%

I would see myself playing it 40% at home, but not on the TV, 40% outside of the home and 20% on the TV. The only time that I really have available to play games on the TV is after the kids are in bed.

As for taking the Switch out and about, it will not take long for third party suppliers to create foam padded carrying cases for the switch that look something like laptop cases only not as tall. I have a padded case for my Vita and it works fine. It allows me to carry the Vita inside my briefcase and not get scratches on the screen.

@Peek-a-boo
They missed the obvious use case in which you prop the Switch up on your desk at work and invite your co-workers to play with you. They could even have shown the boss getting in on the action right before he gives you a formal warning for playing video games at work.

I am a TV gamer at heart, but I am excited about not hauling around a vita, a dslite and two 3ds systems. The size of that screen means I will totally be working on this on the go as well as at home. I expect my backlog is going to see a decrease with NS.

70% at home
30% on the go

Ultimately, probably most on TV, but not by much. So maybe like 60% TV, 30% on the tablet but in my house, and 10% on the road/vacation/whatever.
