The only thing they "owe" us is a creative Mario game like galaxy, sunshine, and 64. Otherwise, I've had the Wii U since launch and it was worth every penny.

I don't feel they owe me anyhting, I knew the Wii U would have a small library when I bought it. But it has been worth evey penny, and the games have been all litlle gold mines!
@Freeon-Leon: Yes it is creative. However, comparing it to something like Galaxy, Sunshine, or 64, makes it not look as good in my opinion. While those three games had natural looking worlds with characters and extra objectives, Super Mario 3D World's levels were more block-like for the most part, and everything looked like it was made of plastic. It's still one of my favorite Wii U and Mario games, simply for the amazing multiplayer though.

Here's what I think Nintendo might want to do to satisfy the Wii U owners or at the least, forgive them.
They obviously can have an ambassador program for the NX for the Wii U owners exclusively which is timed, like give free games on the NX for a timed date kinda like how they did for the 3DS. That way, it'll not only give the Wii U owners the stress that they need to buy games for the NX but also in some sense, can make them accept the apology.
Then there's the trade system they can try out which is giving away the Wii U for the NX kinda like how Microsoft did for the 360 guys for them to get Xbox One.
I know its a stretch, but it is possible....to say the least.
