Topic: How to login Switch using "Family Group" Members?

Both my kids have a Nintendo Switch. Have had one for a year, eventually caved and bought a second. In any case, I see I can create a "Family Group" on my Nintendo account.

But how do I link the switch user to the child accounts? On the Switch, if I say "link this account" it will only link the primary account when I log in, and won't let me add the child account in any way I can see.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might have to look at Nintendo support site on how to do this as well.

@HTWingNut Use a Web browser to log into your Nintendo Account.

Then look for the Nintendo Switch Online and Family Membership pages. Once you've signed up to the Family Membership, you need to send invites to your kids. This is done just by entering an email address. You then open the email, follow the link and log in to your kids' Nintendo Accounts to complete the process.

Thanks for replies. But the thing is, if you go into "Family Group" you click on "add member" and "add child account" you can do this, but then there's no way to enter email address or link that child account to anything. I was trying to avoid setting up multiple email addresses and accounts. But I guess it's my only way.

I called Nintendo support and was on with them for 40 minutes and they couldn't figure it out. So you can add a child account, but it does nothing.

@HTWingNut That's because adding a Child Account is not the same thing; it's not adding them to the subscription.

Once you've got the Child Account setup, you then send an invite to your own email address, follow the invite link in the email, and enter the Child Account sign-in.
