Topic: How Nintendo can improve the Switch

The Nintendo Switch Online is bad even though they are working with Nvidia it's still a decade behind its competition and this is how they can improve it.

Messaging and Voice chat through the actual console via a headset just like it's competition.

Being able to add friends easily and being able to follow them.

Being able to post and share gameplay on the Switch and on social media especially with the Nintendo Creators program going all Nintendo has to do is encourage people to share, share, share. Give gamers the freedom and in return, sales will go up.

Release Mario Maker on the Switch this game could have been so much more popular if it wasn't for the Creators Program.

Save Backups via the cloud and Micro SD.

Themes like on the 3DS.

Better free games we don't just want free games we played many times such as those NES games especially the fact that these games are on the NES Classic. Why can't you instead give us indie games and games we never played before such as on the NES i wouldn't mind TMNT2 Arcade on the Switch since it's not on the NES Classic.

Organize EShop and categorize the content on there we do not want an EShop filled with shovelware.

Virtual Console GCN, DS, Wii, GBA, GB, GBC, NES, SNES, N64, Sega Master System, Sega Megadrive/Genesis, Sega 32X, Sega CD/ Mega CD, Sega Game Gear, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Arcade and PC Engine/TurboGrafx/CD games where are these you clearly have the hardware for it the Nvidia Shield had a port of Mario Galaxy why can't the Switch?

A Streaming service you have that new Ass Creed game on Stream only on a cart. Why Nintendo? Why not just offer a Streaming service? and ban these misleading business practices.

Also, ban business practice where companies want to make the other half of the game an online install like that new Spyro Game. Gamers expect a full physical game on their disk not half or a quarter of it.

VR i want Nintendo to bring VR gaming to the Switch. There is a lot of potential there.

I'm genuinely surprised that we still only have the basic black and white themes.

@Mountain_Man Yeah it has been a year and the hackers have added it before them.

One likes to think they know better but one doesn't.

That is probably a work in progress and games need to be reprogrammed to have that options Nintendo doesn't do that it's the developers that must test this to make it work.

Go do that on twitter.

Did you read what they said it's for gaming not social media. For that there is Twitter and Youtube or FB.

Never say never they have to reprogram it for Switch you don't just go 3DS to Switch.

iVirtual wrote:

Actually that would be the best thing that could happen to Switch - move all the data to the MicroSD and if you get a new Switch just reboot it back and your back into you account and settings.

iVirtual wrote:

That's probably down the line but right now they want to prevent hacking first.

Too much koolaid here, need to realistic on such request.

That is why you read reviews.

Called $$ to reprogram to the Switch you don't just flick a Switch(pun) and it works.

That game is a disaster on the Switch-it wasn't Nintendo that did that the developer did that claiming it won't fit on the Cartridge a obvious lie.

iVirtual wrote:

I like to see you try that and be able to sell their game. The cartridge is cost prohibitive and that is probably part of the reason. Chip tech isn't cheap to make or design.

Really try looking at xbox and sony vr and tell me how far has that gone?

@SwitchForce Go do that on Twitter or Social Media really? Are you serious? If Nintendo says this they can go ahead and continue getting pounded by Sony. This is not a good excuse these features would sell more Switches and would get people to use the Switch more and not be distracted by another device. The VR headset was a success on Sony's end selling over 3 million units and over 22 million in software sales and are you really okay with a disorganized online store or have i missed an update or something and programming costs money but if they want to sell more Switches then they have no choice but get to it. Nintendo has a partnership with Nvidia that X1 chip is made by Nvidia. Nintendo can easily get help from Nvidia since they are a more technically advanced company. These excuses just aren't enough and it has been a year since this thing was released.

Less than 5 percent of the PS4’s user base owns a PSVR and VR for the Switch would have to look like an early PS2 game to render on both screens and run at an acceptable FPS.

Legal threats that have gone nowhere: 1

iVirtual

@Mrtoad Yes less then 5 percent just shows how huge the PS4 userbase is. But 3 million is a lot of sales for a VR headset and it's better than pieces of cardboard.

From my perspective, the ONLY way to improve the Switch is to create a new powerful home console and to give the possibility to pair the Switch with the new system.

Basically, the Switch will become the "new gamepad" of the new system...

We could imagine this new system sold with a pro controler in a standard pack or a premium pack (new system + Switch)...

@Cobalt Or they can modify Mario Maker for it to work with a controller.

Ok, first...
Nvidia simply provided Nintendo with the switchs processor. That in no way means they will help them with any software and even if they did, nvidia makes graphics cards, not online platforms.

Second, you can already backup to the cloud with nso

Next, saying you want better free games and then just suggesting another nes game is stupid, as they are actively adding new nes games

Next, the latest eshop update already added categories

Next, your comment on streaming makes no sense, please clarify.

Next, having only half a game on a cartridge in necessary to get big aaa games on switch, as currently, only 32 GB card options are available and some games are bigger than that

Finally Vr is not where it needs to be for Nintendo to make a good experience on switch, though I do believe they will add it in the future when the switchs tech improves

Well excuuuse me princess

@MasterJay Nvidia and Nintendo have a partnership https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-where-...
Do you know what streaming is? If not what it means is you play games over the internet think of it like a Netflix of games. PS has PS Now, Xbox has Gamepass, Nvidia has Game Stream, Google has one on the way. So it makes sense for Nintendo to jump on board due to the Switch not being to handle every triple a game out there. Nintendo can easily increase the sizes of the carts. Suggesting another NES game is not stupid because if you look at Xbox you get an Xbox 360 game in addition to an Indie game and i suggested an NES game that isn't on the NES Classic. Good to see cloud saves are here but are there micro sd saves? As for the new EShop what categories have been added? After checking it is still pretty bland compared to PSN, XBLA. They got a lot of work to do for there online store aswell.

@iVirtual Nintendo is already utilizing game streaming, they only decided to keep it in Japan because the internet there is considerably better than that of the West.
The Eshop is also not as bad as you might think it is. It is now much easier to find a game that is akin to your tastes out of hundreds. The featured section is also very useful and almost never had the same titles on there for weeks.

@PolarExperience Of course it is an improvement over the last and we have yet to see if streaming is ever going to happen on the Switch i think it would be sweet.

I thought Miiverse was great. I loved sharing screenshots and chatting with other players while I played. I was disappointed when Nintendo ended the service.

3 million is very low for reasonably mature technology. VR has little if any mass appeal.

I Don't know why Nintendo is using mobile to do voice chat. so i can agree with this.

Release Mario Maker on the Switch this game could have been so much more popular if it wasn't for the Creators Program.

i'll only pick up a switch version, if they add interesting NEW features. otherwise i'll keep my Wii U version.

Themes like on the 3DS.

a feature that i like to see too.

Better free games we don't just want free games we played many times such as those NES games especially the fact that these games are on the NES Classic. Why can't you instead give us indie games and games we never played before such as on the NES i wouldn't mind TMNT2 Arcade on the Switch since it's not on the NES Classic.

so something like Playstation Plus and Games with Gold?

Virtual Console GCN, DS, Wii, GBA, GB, GBC, NES, SNES, N64, Sega Master System, Sega Megadrive/Genesis, Sega 32X, Sega CD/ Mega CD, Sega Game Gear, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Arcade and PC Engine/TurboGrafx/CD games where are these you clearly have the hardware for it

unless that old game is expansive. i'll just be using other ways to play these games, and games that are missing on Wii U VC from Wii VC (EX: Smash Bros 64.)
that's also a quite hand of selection of virtual console games. but why just SEGA and Nintendo though? why not add more Variety from other companies that Nintendo CAN get classic games from.

the Nvidia Shield had a port of Mario Galaxy why can't the Switch?

it's Nintendo trying to get the Chinese Market. that's pretty much why it's on there.

VR i want Nintendo to bring VR gaming to the Switch. There is a lot of potential there.

After the failure of the Virtual Boy. Im not shock that we haven't seen a single thing of VR from Nintendo. But, hey, if they can improve it from VB to today, i would not be against of them doing it.

If we talk about improving the Switch the most important changes that would need to be made would be a hardware revision with a screen that doesn't waste a bunch of space on the edges, longer battery life, support for Bluetooth headphones, and more internal storage.

As for software, themes, save data backup locally to the SD cards, support for retro gaming in the form of emulators that allow any company to simply throw their retro game on the eshop. With functional emulators on the Switch, many of which hackers have already made themselves, Nintendo doesn't need to buy back the rights to many games. They can create a section of their eshop for retro content and allow rights holds to throw the roms in the shop.
