Alright I posted this on Twitter, how I've been doing with this game so far...gonna share it here. lol
Day 1 with God Eater 3: Okay, so the weapons are very simple compared to Monster Hunter, alright, that's fine.
Day 2 with God Eater 3: Wait, I could do all this crap the whole time?!

Wonderful video showcasing all 12 God Arcs for anyone wondering which weapon to choose

With games like this I usually prefer short or twin blades but I’m loving the hammers at the moment.
Unless I’m missing something, is there a way to see what rank you’ve achieved in completed missions?
To try out different weapons in a training center environment, go to Loadout, choose weapon, and in Ground, Jump or Step remove Burst Art, then select it and hit Minus (-) to preview.
You don’t have to remove the Burst Art first, but if you want to try out the base move set you’ll need to do that

@GeeEmm
Not that I’m aware, but I’m still learning and feeling my way around.
Just tried hammer. AMAZING. I love the R + Y charge which causes the back of your hammer to light up like a jet engine, and you can just go crazy with repeated attacks until your stamina drains
Also love Biting Edge dual blades (which transform to a glaive that does CRAZY dps), Spear, and Moon. Lots of good weapons.
And I like how the training center tells you how much Slash, Crush and Pierce damage each attack or combo does with a real time count. I discovered the charge attack with the moon doesn’t do as much dps as normal attacks, but, it does twice as much crush damage. So it’s situational, and I love that.

Is there a way to sell weapons? I know about items, but I kinda wanna get rid of some weapons that I won't use. (mainly those basic starter stuff, lol)
EDIT: Ugh, I'm really not used to blocking. I'm constantly being thrown around during the entire fight. >.<
I’m not used to blocking either. It’s a force of habit to dodge from MH.
Had to use smallest Shield for fastest reaction time.

this one is in my switch but i haven't played it yet...from the video of weapons and characters, it looks like it might be way more intricate than MH in some ways.
Game updated to v1.4.5, was anything added? Or was this just a basic update?
Just finished the main story and decided to give the game a break for now, but the game said an update was needed. Dunno when I'll go back to the game right now, thinking of going back to some Monster Hunter games again. I know GE3 doesn't end there, still got some new Aragami to look forward to lol.

Can't say. Fire Emblem took over. I knew that would happen when I got it.

Yeah GE3, I started but barely made it past the prologue. Due to other games taking over...Terraria being one of those annoying games that I just can't put down.
Generally been having a lot fun with this. Like Monster Hunter, but with a bit of a different flavor. Though the amount of menus, inventory management and mechanics (all wrapped up in confusing terminology and lore) does make it feel a bit like learning a new language at first...
Also, how do you know which monster materials are dropped by each monster for upgrading weapons? The monster materials' names don't seem to correlate with the monsters' names... In Monster Hunter it's very clear and straightforward; the materials are named after the monsters, so if you need 3 Rathian Jaws, you know you're going to have to do some Rathian quests. Here it seems a lot more obscure. Do you have to just scroll through every mission and check the Rewards lists?
Pretty much, only thing that bugs me are the material names, it's also not exactly clear which rank you need to get them in. So you just have to check every mission that has that monster if you're not finding it.

As for the materials, I have a question, and maybe I missed something in the early tutorial part of the game. But do you harvest those materials, or is it just what is "rewarded" at the end of the mission? I was a little lost on that part.
Yes, the missions are generally a lot shorter than in Monster Hunter, but they do get longer, and towards the end most of the missions involve hunting two Aragami.
Yes, I agree, all the info is a little overwhelming. As much as I'm having fun with the gameplay, Christ, God Eater makes Monster Hunter seem simple and accessible in comparison. As this is my first one, I'm not sure if this is just due to the unfortunate trend of franchise feature-bloat, but then, this is only the third game, so maybe not... It's like:
God Eater 3: Let me tell you about Devour. Now Burst. Now Burst Arts. Now Burst Art Effects. Now Burst Link. Now Burst Plugins. Now Burst Control Units. Now crafting. Now upgrading. Now Abandoned God Arcs. Now Oracles Cells. Now AP. Now GAP. Now EP. Now Personal Abilities. Now Resonance. Now Engage. Now Acceleration Triggers. Now Skills. Now Custom Bullets, etc...
Me: Wait, what's Devour again?
Haha, you get your head around it all eventually I guess...
