Hot off the heels of Our World Is Ended I've decided to fire this up next. I'm only an hour in, so this is a first impression. Simply put...it's easy to see where Game Freak got their inspiration from, Giga Wrecker Alt is a clone of the Trine series through and through. Only with a nano-tech theme rather than Trine's high fantasy theme.

My only complaint is that the audio for each zone, it has a short duration. As a result the music loops often. This isn't a problem with the soft, melodic track of the intro zone. However, only ten minutes into the second zone and I'm already turning my Switch 's volume down out of irritation.

Gameplay is tight and right. Here, early on, the puzzle solving and platforming take precedence over combat. Because of the focus on puzzle solving, it feels closer to Mighty Switch Force or a 2D Portal. It's a nice twist as most metroidvanias tend to focus on action and exploration.

A couple hours in. Just beat the first boss Astra Vinata. Then I immediately get pitted against Astra Samara and...I can't beat her. Her attack rate is so high that I can't dodge or repel anything in her second phase and I get wiped. I have neither the patience nor the skill to pass this fight.

Moving on. It was cool while it lasted.
