Thought I would create this since I didn't see any topic for it, and the sequel needs it's own discussion.

Now I didn't get this game because I think for $60 it is really overpriced for what you are getting, but I thought I would see what some people have to say about it and how they feel about it. Based off the videos I have seen of people streaming it, I am really disappointed. There was a good amount of hype for this game with previews saying it is this far deeper game designed around the Switch with all sorts of improvements everywhere, and I am just not seeing it. I mean yeah it looks better than the first game but it seems to carry over a ton of things from that game and it doesn't really improve upon nearly as much as I was expecting, especially for a full priced game. If this was a budget title at the $20 - $30 price range I would consider it's faults forgivable, but due to it's price I have to compare it to other AAA racing games these days and when I do that this game is just a joke.

I got the first game for $30 and I felt as though I got fair value.

The second entry in the series doesn't look much better, so again I'll wait for a price drop.

This will probably get better with a few updates just as the 1st and more bang for the buck with a price drop. It's on my watch list until both happen, but I'm definitely interested.

Expectations were high, still are BUT NOT WITH THIS PRICE !!! Will wait and buy used one.

@toiletduck The first game only had one noteworthy update after launch. It has been at 1.02 for a long time now and it took a long time to get that 1.02 update. I am pretty sure it was at 1.01 essentially since it was released.

I guess this is one of those games where you just see how it develops and pick it up for 50% off whenever they decide to finish it.

How does a game that doesn't have a AAA budget be classed as a AAA game?

It's a b-tier game.

Its $100 here in Aus. LOL, I dont think so!
Will get it when its less than $20, ill get V-Rally and GRID in the meantime.

I got it and I've done a few races. There's an improvement over the first game. The handling is less twitchy and feels more realistic. The handling in the first game was weird. Too twitchy and felt like it had to be controlled a certain way. Hard to explain really. But the new game feels like a proper racing game, so you just forget about the controls/handling and just drive.

The performance shop also runs a lot better now. It's not perfect, but it's nowhere near as jerky as the first game.

Graphics are a lot better. Much clearer, better lighting effects and I've not experienced any of the occasional hitching the first game had.

Loading times are still a problem. It gets to 95% and stays there for ages, before loading the game or menu.

Sound effects are also a problem and seems like it was carried over from the first game.

Overall, it's better than the first game and I hope it gets another exclusive version and continues to improve.

Why hasn’t the site done a review yet?

@Qwertyninty Yeah I don't know, Nintendo Life has really been lacking reviews for some of the highlight Switch games lately. I mean I can see why they might not review every cheap eshop title but games that get a physical release should be reviewed.

@JayJ when they rush out reviews all you see in the comments is that they didnt play the game long enough. I would assume they're trying to find a balance.

@toiletduck Yeah, well that confirms what I was fearing and how I felt watching people stream it at least. It's a shame but if we buy this we are just sending the message that this kind of quality is okay and that it will be accepted by the Switch market. The Switch can do better, we can do better.

As of right now, it's the only realistic racing sim so it can pretty much take what you can get.

@SHULZ021 Well not necessarily, this game is hardly realistic (it is sort of a Need for Speed style game) and we have MotoGP which is far more of a realistic racing game.

New update with multiplayer is out. Load times seems to have improved and I find the AI less aggresive, as before they would bump into you a lot.

Can't wait to try it to see how big the improvements are.

Will probably get this when it goes on a good sale in the eshop. Looks quite good

I'm enjoying this a lot and later tracks are quite good designed.

Got it for half price - nice game, after 30hrs of playing I really miss (the same goes for 1st part) time trial option. Nice game, nothing special. Waiting for XenonRacer review (I really like the Grip game - if You can than buy it)
