Yes, I'm in 4.0.0. I did restarted my system snd nothing. I did plugged in the USB in all of the ports, not working.

Oh well, guess it's a chin-up for you then. Chin up!

You guys had me at blood and semen.

How does it handle the lack of clickable sticks or Lz button?

This is pretty huge news really. I remember a lot of people grumbling (quite understandably) about how the GC controller was limited to Smash Bros on the Wii U. And then suddenly Nintendo - without a word - sneaks in an update that makes the GC controller playable with every compatable game on the Switch.

I've just played a few rounds of Mario Kart 8D with the GC controller and it was pretty great. I mean, I prefer the Pro in general, but it's nice suddenly having twice as many controllers at my disposal, and when Smash Bros inevitably drops, it'll be a godsend.

Very happy indeed.

So is there any technical reason they can't patch in a sync for Wii/U controllers too?

@Aurumonado They simply don't exist. You can play games with the GC controller as long as the game doesn't require those buttons. For example, in Splatoon, you can run and shoot but you can't turn into a squid. I'm glad Fast RMX lets you change controls in-game since the default configuration doesn't work with GC controller.

It's its, not it's.

@Maxz It really is ass that they didn't add this support on Wii U but now they do on switch.

Don

So can the GameCube controller be used to play Switch only in docked TV mode or does it also work in tabletop mode too?

@Don
You can use it in Tabletop Mode, but you'll need a female USB A type to USB type C adapter

@MrGamerClock64
Ok cool. If GameCube games come to Switch I would like to play them outside of the house.

@Don
Good luck finding a way to play it though. That adapter will not stay up. XD

Works as advertised. It works pretty well with Mario Kart 7. Doesn't have enough buttons for Breath of the Wild though. The GCN's awful D-Pad keeps if from being a good choice for any 2D game like Sonic Mania or Blaster Master however.
I suspect I might use it a lot with Mario Odyssey however. I checked the buttons at the Gamestop kiosk, and the only missing button is R3 for first person mode.
