Topic: Fortnite players, if Fortnite came to Switch, would you play?

Fortnite has been one of the best games ever for me, I waited 6 years to get this cooperative beast and when it finally launched I loved it, played it with mates all the time, I have some truly godlike weapons and I’m at level 87 in Canny and that’s only because Canny has so little point to play it, I kinda gave up playing it (my mission set is level 64 and I’m 87 as I say).

Then, they launched Battle Royale, now I hate PVP, most games are overated and almost all I’m garbage at so I find PVP stressful. But after weeks of badgering I finally tried it and now I’m hooked. Hooked to the point that this may be better than Smash Melee in my eyes which that has been the gold standard of multiplayer for me since the NGC.

Over 100 wins with a roughly 1.5kd over all 3 modes combined. I barely play solo as I still find that stressful but I have got 6 wins which is more than most it seems, lol. I play a decent amount of duo’s and I’m at 24 wins in that and I play A LOT of squads as I play with my younger brother and best mate of 26 years, we ruin people as a threesome as we rarely have a 4th. 80 wins at last count (Fortnite doesn’t always track wins so I have to separately) and it’s what’s lifting my kd a lot, I am positive on all modes but I’m very very positive in squads.

So it’s safe to say I’m addicted to this game, but, I have no want or wish to play on Switch UNLESS I can use my profile, running around as a Black Knight with all my other stuff (and soon to be stuff like John Wick) reminds me that I have ground my butt off to unlock this stuff and to earn the vbucks in PVE to get the PVP passes for free.

And while I’m sure I’d get plenty of easy wins from a console full of people who probably haven’t played much Battle Royale, it’s not just about the wins it’s about everything. And the skins, dances and taunts are apart of that. Just watch any BCC Trolling vid and you’ll see why.

Apologies for the novel but I am very very passionate about this game, you honestly don’t even need to read the above, just comment below if you’d make the switch or if you’d stick to what you’re currently playing it on.

Not if, when it comes to the Switch I will absolutely play it.

I know this is very unrealistic but if Epic game were to port it to the Switch I would prefer it to be 60fps with motion control support that would make it an immediate buy for me. Splatoon 2 has just spoiled me with it's excellent controls and smooth gameplay.

It runs very well on my iPhone 7 (even if touch controls still sucks). It doesn't support MfI (bluetooth) controllers yet but it will in a later patch. By default you only play vs other mobile players. You can chose to play with friends with PC or/and (PS4/Xbox) and get butchered by keyboard and mouse. I guess it will be the same with Switch version. Its amazing that a game so good is free 2 play so everyone can try it on Switch (hopefully) without spending a dollar. I hate microtransactions as much as the next guy but i still fail to see the logic why we have to pay so much money for old games, i think its unfair. Switch need games like fortnite

My kids play it all the time with their friends on the ps4 so would love for it to come to the switch. I enjoy playing in in short bursts but I'm sure they would sink many many hours into it on their switches

I definitely would, especially if they allow cross play with xbox one at least. That way there would never be a shortage of players, at least for a while. Sony too, but they don't like playing with others this generation

Thankfully Fortnite is free to play, When it comes to paid games, I usually don't (never) buy the same game more than once just to play it on a different console, simply because I believe it's a waste of money. Why would someone purchase the same game more than once, you know...?

Anyway, to answer your question, yes I'd play it on the Switch. But like @subpopz said, only if cross play wouldn't be involved. The advantage PC players would have over Switch players would be ridiculous.

Until then, I'll gladly stick with my PS4 and PC versions.

I might give it a chance to see what all the hype is about. Frankly the game's hype has annoyed me more than intrigued me, but if it came to the Switch, a platform I love, then I'd give it a shot.

I'd certainly play it, and I'm not even a Fortnite player. In addition to that, I'd just be happy for another major multiplat to come to Switch, as it lends more reputability to the system.

No. Not a fan of battle royale games. I get why people like them, but the entire genre is just not my thing.

It depends, for me it HAS to be 60fps. I’m not usually a stickler for performance, and I liked Fortnite just fine when it was 30fps, but since the update came out that boosted it to 60fps, it’s impossible for me to go back to 30fps. There is actually an option in the settings on the PS4 version to bump it down to 30 and out of curiosity I tried it, and I couldn’t do it. It’s free, so I would try it one way or the other, but if it doesn’t hit 60, then I’ll stay on PS4.

I think it should be on Switch because of how huge it is. But I personally don't care either way because it's not for me.
