Topic: For those buying the RAPV Fight Stick, are you modding it?

I'm buying it, I love my fight sticks, I've got a custom Spiderman And Venom TE2 on the XBOX and a custom Full Hollow Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach) TE2 on the PS4.

But the RAPV doesn't make modding as easy, firstly you have to void your warranty to open it and then getting custom art is a colossal pain as it requires you to slice the decal off with a sharp thin blade and then install a sheet of plexi... Which the RAPV isn't designed to have so you end up with a horrid lip and screws sticking out over the plexi making it rather uncomfortable because of chafing.

So, I'm half modding it, I'm changing the buttons to Sanwa as Hayabusa buttons SUCK, but Hayabusa sticks are actually really good and many pro's are choosing them over JLF so I'm keeping that. And what with this being a Nintendo system and the fact that I can't do custom art, I'm going for a simple SNES button layout.

So I've got sitting beside me a Green button, a Red, a Blue and a Yellow as well as 2 Black and 2 White for the L/ZL/ZR/R as Sanwa don't do Grey sadly. And then I've also got an Octopus Octaganal gate as I detest Square gates which all fight sticks seem to come with -_-

sounds like too much work, I am jsut gonna get a PS4 to WiU brooks super converter and keep using my PS4 TES+ Shadaloo fight stick

as you know the TES+ already comes with Shanwa buttons and joystick

No idea about modding these. But I am buying the stick. Very much looking forward to Street Fighter with it.

They're thankfully really simple to mod, everything is colour coordianted you just swap things over.

I know a lot rave about those converter USB's but I've never been a fan.

Some of the cabinet style artwork and limited edition units I've seen for other systems look awesome, but then I'd feel weird playing shmups with an SF stick. The Switch Red actually is a really good multi-cabinet kind of look on its own...not as objectionable as a generic black one. It looks reasonably arcade-accurate out of the box for a non-specialized cabinet.

I'm likely going to mod mine but I suspect it won't be until the end of the year. I just have too many other projects going on right now to care. But I require sanwa buttons and a bat top so... I will likely throw TEK innovations some money for a plexi and an artwork cut. My photoshop/illustrator skills are basic (which is embarrassing given my astrophotography hobby) but I may play around with a custom art design. I'm likely going to EVO next year so I'll want my babies looking pretty.

I'm really just hoping Hori's pro controller is easily pad hacked so I can make my stick from scratch.
