I am hoping three houses will be similar to echos game play wise. I loved echos a lot out of all of the fire emblem games my favorite with revelations at the bottom. I am going to assume support conversations are going to be similar to echos since why would your character a school teacher be attempting to become a pedophile. I also just loved the dungeon crawling aspect of echos it was done great honestly if it was on switch that would be amazing the graphics would be so much better just my thoughts.
@JaxonH: I watched/listened to the GameXplain video that you linked. While some of their points are pure speculation, they make sense. I'm still excited for this one, but not quite enough to dive for that special edition.
Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)
My perfect Fire Emblem would essentially just be Awakening but with added exploration of towns and various locations, which would be used to add story and character development, hidden items, and some sidequests.
That'd be awesome.
I loved Echoes, just didnt like some of the odd gameplay choices from back then.
Looks like they kept the art style (it's much closer to Echoes than Fates anyways) and voice acting, which is fantastic.

I dont negotiate when it comes to Fire Emblem special edition. It's an automatic purchase.
The Fire Emblem display shelf is hungry and needs to be fed 😁

The only thing I wish they'd do away with is the customizable MC. Honestly I find it restricts the game too much. Plenty of the pre-rendered cutscenes in Fates and Awakening were awkward to watch because they couldn't really show the MC, plus it really restricts voice acting. When the MC has voice options that rules out full voice acting for them, plus if the rest of the cast is fully voice acted they have to awkwardly avoid saying the MC's name since it's player selected. Customizable MCs can work well for some games, like Etrian Odyssey, but for heavy story driven games like FE I'd much rather just have a set character like Ike, Marth, Alm or Celica.
The game looks great, though! I'm really excited that they're trying some new things out and can't wait to get my hands on it.

It almost took my arm off last weekend. Was ready to order a box of Cipher cards to feed it as snacks

Hell yes. All story-heavy games should do away with it, with a few exceptions.
90% of the time it just leads to having a character with no personality at all, because they don't wanna spend the time writing 10 different options for everything.
It's been completely pointless in Fire Emblem. It was also obnoxiously awful in Xenoblade X, where it actively detracted from the character relationships.
Eh, with Fire Emblem there’s so many characters and so many interactions, I see no need for the main character to be a specific personality.
With Xenoblade, there I tend to agree. Because most interactions are with your character.
FE is kind of different though, just with the way it’s designed, and still has solid story and countless support convos with other characters, that I don’t mind the avatar.
That’s not to say I prefer it though. Truth is, I think I would actually prefer a main character like Ike or Marth. I just... don’t mind that much, at least, not when it comes to FE. That being said, in Fates, they managed to retain Corrin as a character (not a good one, but a character nonetheless) despite the Avatar choice. And with the options seemingly limited to male/female in Three Houses, I’m inclined to believe Byleth is more character than avatar anyways.

Yep, I'm hoping to get this Day 1. I'm a relatively new convert to FIRE EMBLEM. Like many AWAKENING proved to be my gateway into this seemingly impenetrable series. That game was phenomenal. Still playing FATES and have FIRE EMBLEM titles on the GBA, DS, Wii and GameCube still to finish but still super pumped for a FIRE EMBLEM game on Switch.

No special edition available from GAME as of yet - I'll probably be satisfied with the standard edition, since there's no "three seperate games" malarkey à la Fates. I be there's going to be a truckload of DLC though.
I actually really like it. It's dynamic and makes the cover a little more interesting than your average glory pose cover. Fire Emblem has always meant good games, but they've gotten pretty same-y with the last three 3DS games.
I'm still probably getting the special edition though.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
I bought BestBuy Warfare edition but also bought the Fire Emblem Flower Snow Moon Fódlan Collection. So I got both but I think the Warfare edition is a DLC code for the game unless they change it.
The hype for Three Houses is strong. Preorders for the special edition go live on Amazon NA, sold through in a heartbeat. Second round of preorders go live, again sold through in a heartbeat. Hot as a pistol.
Is Three Houses going to move over 5 million copies like Splatoon, Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon?
I have my doubts, but these preorders are rollin'.
