Feels like another "better than nothing" case.
I mean, if we even get the mobile port. It's not confirmed.
Maybe we just get nothing.

Surprised to hear they're considering porting the original game.

The big positive if they manage to do that would be that they'll probably continue adding more content to the game for another year or so. They had talked about adding story DLC for Ardyn.

I'll buy three copies if it ever comes and spread the love lol.

Unacceptable!

@SKTTR Sometimes it is actually better with nothing, if that means that they will put those resources to use elsewhere that can make something that we actually want.

@TAndvig

What I wanted was just a lot more story content in the main game.

@Dezzy Me too, but to be honest, as someone who have only fully completed FFX and FFXV ( yeah i know, I feel ashamed), I'd rather have a collection of Final Fantasy ports for the Nintendo Switch.

They're on like every other platform. You have no excuses at this point. Go and play the FF9 version that was released on steam last year and ps4 yesterday. Best version of the best game imo.

As I said, they look like they're gonna keep adding more content, probably in part due to these other platforms getting releases. This trailer had a quick preview of the Ignis DLC, the multiplayer one and then some further story stuff they're adding:

Really wish I hadn't played this game on launch. It looks like a Splatoon affair. If you wait for a year, the game's twice as good.

For anyone who's already played the main game, pause that trailer at 2:17. Looks like we're getting an important additional scene for the story.

@Dezzy Didn't say i had any excuses for it, just that i would love those games on the switch, I prefer games like that on a portable, and yeah i know there is FF 9 on PS Vita, but my hands are way to big to play the ps vita for long durations at a time.

@TAndvig

Too big for the Vita? The PSP must've been a nightmare for you then with that annoying little sand paper covered nubbin.

@Dezzy Haha, well i was rather young when i had the psp, but still then it wasn't very comfortable,no.

As I suggested, they're definitely continuing making more stuff for it. And I seriously hope this sentence from Tabata means they're making the 2nd continent open-world.

“Not only are we further investigating characters through additional episodes, if we don’t convey the setting that is the foundation of the world, we won’t be able to convey the characters’ way of life.”

If they make the second continent open world and pad out the 2nd half of the story, this game would probably go from 8/10 to 9.5/10 in my eyes. Those were really my only complaints.

As a (former) Final Fantasy fan, I don't particularly care for FFXV and its unfocused direction. It was probably one of the most baffling games I've ever played, it has so many strange design choices that ruined my initial playthrough, and no amount of changes and patches introduced retroactively can change the fact that, when I bought it in December, it was a buggy mess with cumbersome exploration and an uninteresting disjointed story, held together by a relatively poor battle system that (IMO) doesn't play fair with the open world/camera.

@Dezzy
I dunno man, I just dunno. The exploration itself was..boring, for me. I found myself actually bored by travelling on foot, bored by travelling on Chocobo, and bored by "driving" the car. I don't think a second continent full of more of the same will do anything for me, personally, unless the way exploration is handled is overhauled completely. The world feels incredibly bland, like you're navigating a series of non-interactive set pieces with not much to find.

Saying that, the dungeons were good..even VERY good, but again got very samey. And locking off parts of dungeons until the endgame? Low blow, SE. Having the player explore a dungeon only to find a locked door and a vague "come back later!" was incredibly poor.

Bah I'm just ranting at this point. But yeah, FFXV disappointed me in ways that I'm still PO-d about.

Ah... me too.
I will never want to buy FF XV.
Too many Negative feedback, too boring HD Realistic, so many wrong things there.

Depends what they add though! I doubt they'd just make the entire continent completely empty. They'd hopefully add some towns and sidequests and whatnot. The actual continent looked pretty interesting from the train track I thought.

That grin on his face when he realizes he trolled the Internet many times over with all the past statements he and his team made.

There is probably something lost in translation. Either in the current statement, or the statements made before...

It's all a bit difficult to follow to be fair.

Given how they want to keep it going into 2018 with new content, I definitely think they'll try and get a Switch version going. Although I bet the downgrading will be huge.

If the PC and Switch version includes all of the DLC and updates at launch, those versions of the game will review a lot better than the original game, which will help sales on these new platforms.

They've apparently just updated the game and added 10 minutes of extra cutscenes to chapter 12 (obviously don't watch it if you haven't played it yet or want to replay with all the new stuff)

Really bizarre and randomly done.
They really should just come out and admit they released an unfinished game. Really good for PC players who are gonna get this version first time though.
