Topic: Do you think Nintendo should get rid of motion sensor controls?

I love the Wii U but I think a huge problem is that many games are only compatible with the old remote control and there are way too many accessories you need to get to play certain games... like the nunchuck (I still don't understand it).

I have three pro controllers, which in my opinion are the best controllers for the Wii U, but I can't even play Mario Party unless I buy four classic remote controls, which to me is absurd.

I would like to see one standard controller for this system... if it is a home console.

That's a big factor in it being called the 'Wii' U imo. I love my wiimotes and nunchucks - I bit the bullet early on with my Wii to get 4 of each. As such I would obviously like them to be invested incorporated into the next console. Conversely I don't own any pro controllers yet because they ain't cheap and they ain't necessary. Motion control 4 eva!

The problem with the WiiU is it didn't present the next evolution in one-handed controllers. Think of it less about motion control (because that can apply to a HMD, two-handed pad, or the controller-less Kinect) and think of it in terms of one-handed controllers.

I want the next Home Console to have the next step for motion controls

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well we are nearly positive that the main controller will be the Sharp LCD screen.

The question is: will it be like the Wii U, where it's only for the main player, or for multiple users? With all due respect, I don't feel inclined to spend 60 USD on the Wii U Pro Controller when it isn't amazing. Spending 60 USD on THIS bad boy, on the other hand...

This very much, assuming it's a console. Given that I may not always have a full range of motion on a handheld, I'd rather motion controls be minimal in that sphere.

@Haiassai
My bet is that that display will be used for the next handheld. The idea of a freeform shape seems a lot more useful to handheld design than it would be to console design.

The next step for motion controls would be something along the lines of the Virtuix Omni, where we can completely control games with our bodies. I don't think that's what they're working on.

I think that's A next step in motion controls, but it's probably best for arcades.

There are other things Nintendo can do to improve motion controls though. Improving physical feedback is probably one of the biggest things they could to to improve it.

Honestly, I don't see much of a ways to improve motion controls at this point without crossing VR territory or going overboard Kinect-style (seriously, full-body motion control is one enormously dumb gimmick). I don't think Nintendo will ditch motion stuff though, but they're probably only going to keep finetuning it at this point, while focusing their general priority on a better control interface in general.
So no, I don't think Nintendo should ditch motion controls, or at least not yet. Admittedly, only very few WiiU games even use motion controls at all (since it's optional), but I hope Nintendo will create a game that makes good use of the WiiMote without forcing it.

I don't think Kinect and Body Tracking makes for good game experiences. In my opinion you still need a type of controller to play games. So when I say the next step in motion controls, I don't mean to replace the controller. When I say the next step of motion controls I mean to make them more accurate and more functional. What if they were able to make a $30 or $35 controller similar to the Wii Remote but better and with an analog stick and instead of a Nunchuck you just use two controllers. That way you have full tracking with both devices and added functionality with more buttons and better feedback. The future of motion controls shouldn't be trying to erase the controller (body tracking) it should be in making the technology stronger and better to use. That is what I hope with the next Home Console
