However, work, family, children and life generally prevent this, so I'd say I'm 80% handheld, and 20% docked.
Whatever game it is though, I always as a rule have an hour or two docked at some point, just so I can see how the game looks and plays on the big screen.
Were I a child/teen or a bachelor etc, I'm sure I'd be more like 20% handheld and 80% docked.
I generally far prefer console gaming to handheld gaming, but I'll still take VOEZ's touch screen controls over the patched in Joycon controls any day. Sometimes Slime San is nice in handheld mode too, just to have the screen closer up to your face given how small the sprites are. That one probably isn't much of a problem if you have a bigger TV than mine, mind you.
I'm actually of the opposite view regarding Slime-san; the characters are uncomfortably small on the Switch's little screen. My TV isn't very big but I do sit fairly close to it.
Anyway, for almost all games I'm not really bothered as to which mode I'm playing in. The only game I won't play handheld at all is ARMS, because I want to use the motion controls (and I don't have much reason to ever use tabletop mode).
I mostly only use the dock as a charging station, or to leave Plantera running in the background while I do something else.
For other games, my monitor is too small. I can play Mario Oddyssey just fine but anything that requires reading or attention to detail is just not worth the eye strain. And I also like my touch screen controls.
