Topic: Dark souls 3 footage shown?

Peek-a-boo

I'm a big Bloodborne and Dark Souls fan, and I would love to see the series make its debut on the Nintendo Switch.

I believe FromSoftware were one of the company logos up on the partnership slideshow during the Switch event last year; I cannot find it however, I have a pretty good memory and am 99% sure they are going to bring something onto Nintendo's newest toy.

My only worry is for those who play the game in portable mode - it is quite an easy game to become discouraged with, which could potentially lead to somebody throwing or twisting the Switch in frustration!

Gamespot always screw up what it says along the bottom of their videos, they need to fire that guy already.

Googled 'fromsoftware switch' and I see many articles about FromSoftware having DS3 running well on Switch and they were considering a trilogy re-release for it too. Hope this comes to fruition.

Easy fix: Everyone just needs to not play those awful video games.

Haha anyway, you're referring to this.

@Haru17 Wow! That 3% of developers working on Switch games is rather great! How bad is the other 97%???

@GrailUK Weird tone to take, but compared to mobile devs every game is great.

I've noticed posters on other forums arguing that the texture quality isn't quite PS4/PC/etc. level, which might give some credence to the idea that it's coming to the Switch.

I'm not the biggest Souls fan in the world, but I think they're well-designed games and would buy a trilogy collection in a heartbeat. I need portable Souls in my life. Make it happen!

Okay so things do look a little downgraded in that video but who know? I mean it could happen, anything is possible.

My thing is if it IS true, one look at that comments section tells me all Nintendo fans should take cover if it is. Us filthy casuals cant have a game like that at home on our console to then take anyway for....reasons.

Good news if it is coming. Not my cup of tea, but the more AAA third party the Switch gets, the better.

I would be really interested in a "trilogy". I wonder if we will get some kind of announcement at E3 (if not before, but i don't think that's the case)

I have Dark Souls 3, but I've never player 1 or 2. So if it does come, I'd definitely buy it.

I think it would take a good amount of practice to play that in portable mode. It's already hard enough with a traditional controller.

If I can handle BotW's controls. I can handle DS

I'd prefer BloodBorne (unfortunately it was funded in part by Sony), but I'd certainly be very happy to see a Dark Souls collection on the Switch.

See, the good thing about Breath of the Wild being both open world and difficult, is it's going to act as a gateway drug for Nintendo fans with games Dark Souls and Skyrim. Zelda has succeeded on so many levels...

@BLP_Software I saw those comments all came from one guy who, to be fair, got a lot of flack from the others commenting.

If this is indeed played on the Switch then why hasn't it been made a massive thing of? Surely it would have had an official announcement before the captured footage was released. And why is it only GameSpot that seems to have captured this footage and no one else like IGN or Eurogamer or heck, Nintendo Life which would make plenty of sense.

@FragRed Couldve been a slip up, revealed too soon perhaps?

Hell, it could be they have a DS3 Switch video ready to go and put the Switch stuff on that one by mistake. But no one is clarifying...

@BLP_Software Yeah that's true. I'd have thought this would be perfect for E3 reveal. "All 3 Dark Souls with DLC... on the go and at home. Only on Nintendo Switch". That's a big announcement. As you said, no one is clarifying and the video is still up. So it's definitely odd.

I expect a full blown Amazon France reveal now just because they always do

I find Zelda far easier than Dark Souls 3 (which is the only Souls game I own). The only enemy in Zelda that ever gave me real hassle was a Lynel. While I've died a decent number of times in Zelda, it's never been the ragequit-inducing level of difficulty that Dark Souls is. I suppose Nintendo games have always been pretty easy for the most part though, so I could see a Nintendo-only gamer who enjoys the medium level of difficulty that Zelda provides might enjoy Dark Souls a lot.

I'm personally not really a fan of Dark Souls though, because while I can progress, it's really just a struggle and a constant, frustrating grind to do so. I suppose that's the whole point of the game, but it's just not for me. Maybe I'm just a noob, lol. @JaxonH

Well sure, I do too. I didnt mean to say Zelda is as hard as Dark Souls.

I meant it's a difficult game and you die alot, and that's good. Because then other hard games (like Dark Souls, like Monster Hunter, games that almost certainly will come to Switch) might actually have a chance of selling very well thanks to Zelda finally getting Nintendo only gamers to taste the hardcore rainbow.
