Are you talking about something like what was used for Dance Dance Revolution? I remember back on the PS2 and Xbox and I think Gamecube too when you could get those. But it seemed like that fad had long blown over. Game specific devices like that tend to be a bad development idea.

DDR hasn't released a game in 4 years, so, I'm looking at getting an adapted for an old DDR game, and I'm also looking at if Just Dance can be used with a dance pad.
The Omega dance pads are expensive, so expensive that it would be sensible to buy an arcade machine instead.
I want to buy as a Christmas present. An additional point is I need a pad which will work for a heavy person.
There is no game for the Switch that is compatible with a dance mat.
There are also no dance mats that can connect to the Switch.
There are also no adaptors or anything that would make a dance mat work on the Switch. (RETRACTED, theoretically you can connect a GameCube mat via the Gamecube adaptor for Wii U that works on Switch).
Simply put, what you are looking for doesn't really exist.
That may change in the future, but not for the time being.
@FX102A You can technically use a GC dance pad with GC adapter. But yeah, there's no point since there are no games for Switch that are made with dance pads in mind. And it's far from optimal solution.
@Davidkm I'm not an expert when it comes to dancing games but Wii had a fair share of DDR games and it still gets Just Dance games. I'm sure other consoles from previous generation had them as well. I'd guess there are some for PC too. I'm afraid I can't help you more than that.
It's its, not it's.

Psst...
You can try Stepmania, DDR Simulator + DDR Maker.
All you need are three things :
1. Laptop + Stepmania program. Stepmania 5 is better for DDR X2 , and above themed (Cover flow style)
2. Big TV + Converter cable from VGA to TV
3. Metal DDR Mat. Order from Ebay, but it might be very expensive but worthy.
Just have those 3 things, you can start make your own DDR Home Arcade.
The songs ? All up to you ! As long mp3 / ogg files. You can add more , No limitation.
The steps and difficulty ? Up to you ! You decide the step pattern and how difficult can be.
Video BG and Cover art ? Up to you ! Choose any video BG that fit with the song.
@CurryPowderKeg79 Yes it would. This thread isn’t about a specific game, and neither are those. I’m not sure if this or that and the comment thread are stickies, though, since stickies are fair game.
