I really hate that you can't customize the controls in this game. Why is the default drift/boost the L and R buttons? Why can't they be assigned to the more natural ZL an ZR buttons?
So far I definitely think that Team Sonic Racing is a way better game than this. (But the lack of being able to race online with friends kills TSR).
Played a lot more of this now, having restarted Adventure on Easy. Now I'm finding the game way too easy, never leaving 1st place (as opposed to struggling for 3rd in Medium).
Quite frustrating, really. If the difficulty doesn't ramp up significantly I might try Medium again. If the difference between Easy and Medium is like this...I dread to think what Hard is like.
Despite difficulty issues, I'm really liking the game. Track design is excellent and the aesthetic really captures the essence of the Crash series.
Has anyone tried the online since the patch? It isn't a big deal to me, but if I buy a game with online multiplayer, I will mkre than likely use the online multiplayer, but from what I saw of it before the patch, it looked borderline unplayable.
Im still not sure if I like it or not.
Lobbies far from full, controles a bit clunky, the style is awesome, it is not on mk8 level ,and comes close to Sonic.
Now playing

@Buizel I played on medium and got a first on the first track after about 30 attempts. Track 2 and I gave up after maybe 20 attempts.
I switched to easy and I got 4 trophies with just 1st or 2nd attempts.
I'm sure it's to do with mastering the slide boosts because I came in second quite a few times on the master setting, but just could not get a first, and when I did I guess it was luck. The slide boost needs simplified.
I like a bit of a challenge but I dont know if I want to spend so much time trying to master something that needs fixed. I will complete it on easy and maybe a patch will fix it by then.
I find Team Sonic hard'ish on easy. But unlike Crash, with Sonic it get addictive, just one more go and I do it. With Crash one more go and it goes out of the window.
This game is really really good on PS4. It reminds me of mario kart in so many ways. The difficulty is high but gets better when you are used to the mechanics. Finished adventure mode on medium now I am trying to unlock all the characters/skins/karts/parts etc and will attempt hard mode after!
I am going to get it for Xbox One X, I already have Team Sonic Racing which I think it's good. I've never played Crash Team Racing (PS) but I have Nitro Kart (GameCube) which I think has the same drifting system as Crash Team Racing (I'm not sure). I didn't have issues with the GameCube game but I read that everybody thinks that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is quite difficult in normal. I will get the game anyway but just curious if this is the most difficult Crash racing game and if the drifting system is the same as Nitro Kart.
@SlyPlayr09 I intend to play the story in normal and yeah, online can be frustrating in any game but I'll follow your advice. I have to play online for getting rewards, you mean?
I didn't have any issues with drifting in Nitro Kart (GameCube), I thought that it is cool that it requires skills and still be simple. I think that I'll have fun with the remake and I love the graphics.
@BlueOcean I've played both Crash Team Racing (PS1 original) and Crash Nitro Kart, and yes, the drifting is identical in both games. Only difference between the two is the game speed (I definitely remember Nitro Kart being a lot slower than Team Racing).
Oh yeah, and one more thing to keep in mind for CTR Nitro Fueled. You have to stay connected to the internet to get wumpa coins for unlocking stuff. If your console isn't online, you're not getting any. Dumb decision if you ask me... -_-
@SlyPlayr09@MarioLover92 Thanks! Yes, I found Nitro Kart a bit slow but I liked the drifting system so I think I'll like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled even more. I'll play on Xbox One X and it's online so I'll get those Wumpa coins and also try to play some online races for getting more but yes, it's weird if you can't get Wumpa coins playing solo if the console is offline. I think it's really cool that the remake includes all the content from Nitro Kart.
