All versions of this are having online issues, the AI needs patched.

Posts may be more salty than Nintended!

@Buizel I agree. This game is very difficult compared to something like Mario Kart 8 (which I'm enjoying). I don't think I'm going to do so well in hard mode, though...

From what I've played, I think these are my pros and cons.
Pros:
1. Entertaining, vast roster
2. Beautiful, unique tracks
3. Fun gameplay
4. Plenty of free customization items
5. Relies heavily upon a player's skill rather than luck
6. Free Grand Prix (DLC) content in the future
7. Adventure mode and many other modes
Cons:
1. The Pit Stop requires a vast number of Wumpa coins to unlock certain items.
2. Wumpa coins can only be acquired while connected with the internet.
3. Computer racers are ridiculously accurate at times.
4. Loading times can be rather long.
I haven't played online yet, so I can't comment on that. Overall, I'd say CTR:NF is just as good as MK8D.

My copy arrived yesturday, but couldn't play it last night so looking forward to trying it today. @SlyPlayr09 Thanks for the breakdown of what you think. I'm looking forward to Nintendolife's review which should I guess be up anytime...

Maybe its because my internet was funky yesterday, but I have gotten three glitches so far. In Adventure mode.

Two of them were errors kicking me out of the game the moment I reached the finish line in 1st place, and one time during the first boss my game just froze and I had to manualy go back to the home menu myself.

Otherwise its fun, but those glitches really killed my enjoyment.

@NinChocolate
It seems seriously strange that no Nintendo blog sites have reviewed CTR. CTR is such a high profile, highly anticipated game, I would think it's guaranteed to bring lots of clicks/traffic to their site. Makes me wonder if there's something behind the scenes we don't know. Like switch review copies weren't available until later?

I really hate that you can't customize the controls in this game. Why is the default drift/boost the L and R buttons? Why can't they be assigned to the more natural ZL an ZR buttons?

So far I definitely think that Team Sonic Racing is a way better game than this. (But the lack of being able to race online with friends kills TSR).

I do wish you could customize the controls, or at least assign accelerate to the A button. Otherwise having a blast with the game. Just unlocked Penta Penguin with the code and Crunch in Pit Stop, going through section 2's tracks in Adventure mode. It runs great in handheld as far as I can tell.

Played a lot more of this now, having restarted Adventure on Easy. Now I'm finding the game way too easy, never leaving 1st place (as opposed to struggling for 3rd in Medium).

Quite frustrating, really. If the difficulty doesn't ramp up significantly I might try Medium again. If the difference between Easy and Medium is like this...I dread to think what Hard is like.

Despite difficulty issues, I'm really liking the game. Track design is excellent and the aesthetic really captures the essence of the Crash series.

Has anyone tried the online since the patch? It isn't a big deal to me, but if I buy a game with online multiplayer, I will mkre than likely use the online multiplayer, but from what I saw of it before the patch, it looked borderline unplayable.

@Matthew010
online working good for me,
only down side for me is that lobby never get full, most of the times only 5 players

@Ibra Thanks. Sounds like it's fixed then!

Im still not sure if I like it or not.
Lobbies far from full, controles a bit clunky, the style is awesome, it is not on mk8 level ,and comes close to Sonic.

I've noticed the load times are a bit long both before and after the races. Is this on all or only on the switch?

I can't complain about em on my day one PS4. Having played Lego City Undercover on Wii U, I tend to not mind load times anymore tho 😜

What a beautiful signature.

Super tempted to buy this on the Switch, but I think I'll wait for the PC release.

@Buizel I played on medium and got a first on the first track after about 30 attempts. Track 2 and I gave up after maybe 20 attempts.

I switched to easy and I got 4 trophies with just 1st or 2nd attempts.

I'm sure it's to do with mastering the slide boosts because I came in second quite a few times on the master setting, but just could not get a first, and when I did I guess it was luck. The slide boost needs simplified.

I like a bit of a challenge but I dont know if I want to spend so much time trying to master something that needs fixed. I will complete it on easy and maybe a patch will fix it by then.

I find Team Sonic hard'ish on easy. But unlike Crash, with Sonic it get addictive, just one more go and I do it. With Crash one more go and it goes out of the window.

So, it looks like you earn about 10x the amount of Wumpa Coins when you race online for a while. The ten times multiplier returns after approximately a day has elapsed. Has this been the case for everyone else?
