Honestly I think a game like Crazy Taxi would be a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch.
1st off because it's not a very graphic intensive game(at least the previous versions in the past). So for the graphics category(at least to me) it fits right in with what the Nintendo Switch is trying to accomplish.
2nd this game would be the perfect game to make use of online, multiplayer LAN, and even just docking it into the dock, to play multiplayer on the TV.
Plus I wouldn't even mind if they just ported an older version over to the switch. Then maybe just enhanced it a little bit to add online, and multiplayer LAN.
To me at least, these are the type of games that could fill the void of not having lot of games and or a strong game line up.
I don't necessarily disagree, but it's a dead franchise that got tired and played out many many years ago. I'd genuinely be surprised if we ever see another CT game on any platform.
I loved Crazy Taxi 1 & 2 on Dreamcast.Never played 3 on Xbox but from what I've read it's not very good.I doubt we'll ever see a Crazy Taxi 4 and I'm not sure I'd even want one as it probably wont be as good as the originals.I would love the chance to play them again though on Dreamcast VC,if that ever becomes a thing. That and a Sega Arcade VC are my biggest wishes for Switch, much more so than Gamecube VC.
I actually think that the Wii U could have been the perfect platform for a new Crazy Taxi game as the Gamepad could have been used as a GPS ("in 200 metres, turn left"; "there is a traffic event on your route"), with the option for motion controls via a Wii Remote + Wheel. God, I just hate to think of all of the gameplay styles that would have benefited enormously from the Gamepad. sigh So much untapped potential.
I see no point in releasing a new Crazy Taxi otherwise as I cannot think of any other way that the gameplay would be a cut above the Crazy Taxi games that we can already buy for a few bucks on mobile devices (other than VR). I would still consider a Crazy Taxi game on Switch, but I doubt that it would move the series forward in any meaningful way.
