Have to say I never heard of this series before... Seems odd the game, apparently the final part, just popped up in recently released today?
Since I can't play the previous ones, is there any point getting this? Anyone familiar, to say if it's any good, please?
And I say that as a big fan of the franchise. The original Corpse Party is one of my all-time favorite horror games, and I've enjoyed other sequels, ports, and spinoffs in the series. Blood Drive... look, I 100% completed it when it came out, and it's not the worst thing in the world, but it's a disappointment compared to the other games in the series, and it won't mean much to you if you don't already know the characters and background lore to the series. Also, if it's anything like the Vita original, then it's a glitchy mess that'll crash on you too often.
If you own a 3DS, I'd highly suggest looking into the 3DS port of the first game, which is the definitive version of the experience. Give this a pass for now, though.
Thanks, @Ralizah ... It seemed really strange, this being the last in the series appearing. You'd think they'd want to do them from beginning!
No 2DS or Vita anymore! Not sure how I missed even seeing the games on either when I had them
@BruceCM If you're really interested in the series, you can get Corpse Party on iOS. It's expensive for mobile/tablet - as all 5pb games are - but it's the same enhanced remake you'd find on the Vita. Works perfectly (it was a bit crashy at launch, but they fixed that years ago), and managed to scare the bejeebers out of me. Highly recommended. Especially with Halloween around the corner.
@BruceCM Yeah, not porting over the previous two games is a massive missed opportunity. I'd be doing serious work annoying people into playing the first one on Switch, because, despite the RPGMaker look of the game, it really is excellent.
A less refined version based on the original PC version released on Steam. The character designs and voice work are completely different, and it's lacking most of the extra chapters and gory CGs from the mobile/PSP remake, but the story should basically be the same. It likely goes pretty cheap in Steam sales.
Not with no way to play any previous ones, @Krull ..... Don't have any laptop or PC, @Ralizah! Been looking around & even the biggest fans weren't too impressed with Vita version While they seemed to think it was worth playing as the conclusion, that doesn't work if you haven't played any previous parts
Thanks for the info & hopefully they might bring the rest over if there's enough demand
@BruceCM Ah, I should have said - Corpse Party on iOS is the enhanced version of the original game. You can get Blood Drive on iOS as well, but like @Belmont says, don't bother unless you really love the first one.
Eh, well, if I was going to play 1st one, I'd want 2nd to be available, as well.... @Ralizah Maybe I can find enough gameplay videos to avoid having to play any of them
