Topic: Complete novice - please help

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can help me with what is probably a really silly question.

My son got a Switch last Christmas and loves it but battery life isn't great. Our local game store is doing an upgrade offer to the 1.1 and its really cheap.

So, my question is - if we upgrade the Switch does he lose all the bits and bobs we've bought him on Fortnite? Or can we just login to his Fortnite account on the new Switch? Is this even a thing? 😂

He also plays Fifa 19 alot but we haven't spent extra cash on that so I don't think that will be much of an issue.

As far as I know, you can transfer to a new Switch without loosing things.
I personally think your best path for help is Nintendo. They've got a big focus on customer support. The link I pasted points you to the Nintendo UK support phone number. You can ask them to point you to directions on their site, where to start, or ask them to walk you through the process. When I've called Nintendo here in the US, I've had very positive experiences.

here's the thing if they let him upgrade and transfer his saved game and account data to the new Switch then this is good. It require internet connection to do the account transfer and game save transfer along with a new Memory card in the New Switch. This is how I did mine I had to use my PreOrder as collateral to get the Switch home and connected and then transferred my data and that was good and then I traded my system in. So talk with them about this.
