Topic: Changing Switch region: what happens to eshop games?

Hi all

Sorry if this is in the incorrect forum, or if it has already been covered elsewhere...

My region/country is set to Germany, but I'd like to set it to the UK. What will happen to the games I bought from the German eshop if I change to the UK? Will they still be available to lay after the change?

Make sure you have spent any remaining balance, as that will get lost.
Beware that if you are using a Credit/Debit Card or Pay Pal, it has to be for that region.

You're games should still be available to re-download, providing that game is available in that region.

Each NNID is set to a specific region, so nothing will be affected if you are simply changing the region of your console via Settings.

Your NNID will still be considered German regardless of the region of your console, and I do not believe that it is possible to change your NNID's region (at least not without direct correspondence with Nintendo).

I have both an American and Japanese account and can use both regardless of where I am in the world. (Unless you go somewhere where the country has its own different rules)

You don't need to get rid of your German account either, you can just make a UK account on your Switch.

The only time I ever ran into an issue was in 2017 one time, I tried to play the downloaded version of Puyo-Puyo Tetris from Japan with my system set to America, and it would not open the game. It was not yet released in America at the time, I changed my system to Japan and it worked fine. However I think that was a fluke with that specific game, as I've played other games from other regions that hadn't see a release where I was without the issue repeating itself.

So just to make sure, switching the region of your account will still give you access to NSO which was bought for another region?
