Topic: Can't Report Players on the Switch

@shaneoh I actually did! Although now I'm not sure about something since it could apply both ways: Am I wrong for not understanding how are some people offended by this situation or is Sourjolly wrong for generalizing by saying it's offensive? maybe both, sorry if I missed the point

If this is the "I'm offended by this" situation then it means it shouldn't be reported right?

Is this not a classic case of the modern blight on humanity that is being offended because you think there's a reason you could be offended, rather than because it actually offends you?

In this instance, Sourjelly is wrong for generalising that it is offensive, particularly as he said this:

He's not offended by it, just claiming other people are or would be.

You'd think that would be the case, but with the scale of weapons we have now, and everybody a stones throw from each other, the next time someone makes a serious attempt at conquering the world that will be the end of us all.

I must say, this is one area where I think that Xbox have the best solution...I really like how, on Xbox, you can not only block players, but rate them, mute them and/or report them as well - and how the whole matchmaking system takes these ratings in to account. It's not flawless - there's always another undesirable player just around the corner - but at least they seem to be taking quite a pro-active approach to it by incentivising good behaviour from players on XBL...and it gives you, the player, the option to give annonymous feedback instead of just hard-blocking someone - which I feel should just be reserved for the most undesirable of undesirable players! ..sometimes I'm not really offended by someone, but just wish that they'd clean up their language a bit - this system gives the option to give them a little nudge to clean up their act a touch!

Alright I'm sooo confused lol. Nintendo is a family friendly platform. My main reason for reporting this dude is because of kids playing this game. How is this not inappropriate for a seven year old to see? Wouldn't want a kid thinking "ha oh Hitler is so cool to joke about." I think an inappropriate name is a reasonable thing to report imo. Loving these comments though. Especially that comic haha.

I'm a very empathetic person and I think it's completely fine to assume people would be offended. It's like... why do people not dress up as Hitler for Halloween? Because it's super inappropriate and could offend. One day back in middle school we had a 'dress as a celebrity' day. This kid painted his face with brown paint to be a famous black actor. The school suspended him because they thought it was inappropriate and offensive. @shaneoh

I think @Sourjolly is right in wanting to report the guy for his Hitler mii. There is a reason Hitler is offensive. Online on a Nintendo console is not the place for that, considering Nintendo's family-friendly atmosphere for most of their games.

there shoulda been a real reporting button from the beginning.

Yeah so far the only way to report anyone is on Splatoon 2's app and you can only report people in ranked matches. @Samus7Killer

@Sourjolly sad that it's not advanced enough to be able to report properly and every game node.

My all time fave multi player game in history suffers from this as well. I was hoping with Nintendo's archaic and kid friendly stance theyd have a unique and fully funtional Reorting system.

Just wait... when people throwing matches without quitting out; it will ruin the game.

@Samus7Killer yeah eventually they will have to fix this. Im already noticing an abundance of people afk-ing in ranked/regular matches on Splatoon. I think the main reason for this is that you can't leave a lobby when you've hit search for a match. Which should also be fixed imo.
