Topic: Can't Report Players on the Switch

The focus here is that there is no convenient way to report other players.

While I was playing Splatoon 2 I came across a player with the name "SIB Hitler"

Besides that this could offend someone a lot of kids play Splatoon and I personally think it's inappropriate. I clicked on his profile and it's legit a Mii laying down that looks just like Hitler... how haha? How is this even allowed? I decided I should report him... found out this is literally IMPOSSIBLE. Clicked on his profile and I can only block him.

I decided to call Nintendo Switch support... I was on hold for about 5 minutes and then got to talk to this really nice guy. I explained the situation and he put me on hold for about 12 minutes. He then explains that he will 'send the information over to the appropriate team' I'm sorry... I'm not stupid. After talking with him further there was nothing he could do. I was just wanting this account to have a simple name change/picture change. Are you kidding me Nintendo??

I just don't understand. Every video game I've ever played on any other system reporting is sooo simple and you're ACTUALLY ABLE TOO. Seriously fix this. This is ridiculous.

I was angry because there is no convenient way to report someone. I'm used to playing MMOs where reporting is very simple. I rarely report people. Little kids shouldn't see Hitler in Salmon Run lol

Apparently I'm not the only one who thought to stick Hitler in that pose.

Ya, I don't own a switch, but a report button would be useful for times like this, to report a mii, name, or a death threat, maybe we need the Miiverse admins to look over everything.

You could always contact Nintendo directly, but that is a fantastic pose.

@Sourjolly there is a report option in the Splatnet 2 option of the Nintendo Online app.
Go to matches you've played recently and find the user. Tap on them and it should say report at the bottom.

So you think your report button will go to a different appropriate team than the guy on the phone was going to do for you?

Don't assume he will do nothing but also assume a report button means anything

What if when you hit the report button it goes to that guy your dont trust to do anythign with?

In other games I've played(for instance WoW) people like this get banned. Or they receive an e-mail saying they need a name change. The guy I talked to on the phone was very nice but acted like it wasn't a very big deal. Just pushed me along. Either way it wouldn't be very difficult to just make him change it lol @ValhallaOutcast

Of course I realize this lol. Doesn't mean it's okay. Hitler didn't piss me off... the fact you can't properly report someone pisses me off. I didn't drop the call. Finished the call he said he couldn't do anything. I also told him they need to improve this. @Link-Hero

Yeah sounds like a report button would be really good addition. Good OLD Nintendo behind the online curve as per usual. Love the company but sometimes they need to get their shiz together.

@Sourjolly I definitely agree that there should be a report button or function, but honestly I don't see why this guy deserves to be reported. Maybe I'm not looking at the bigger picture or something but for me, if someone tells me : dude do something about this player that made his Mii look like Hitler, he even put him in a "draw me like one of your french girls pose" and it's really offensive! I would be asking myself how or why someone considers it offensive, I mean, I'm not even sure if you think he's mocking jews or Hitler. What does SIB mean? wasn't it something like "Strokes imaginary beard" or something like that?

Edit: Oh yeah, it also meant something like related in blood to someone in english languge right? I still don't see reason to report him though.

Lots of little kids play this game and I personally wouldn't like my own child (if I had one) playing with some dude named Hitler lmfao. His picture I actually find a little funny but it also confirmed that yup he really is talking about Hitler lol @roy130390

@Sourjolly I think I'll wait to see if he offends or attacks users in some way, since I don't think that much can be done with the name and appearance he chose. If his name included vulgar words or something like that wich are things mentioned in the terms of agreement then something could be done, but right now I don't think he's doing anything that violates that agreement. I could be wrong though. They could also suggest you that if it bothers you so much that your kids play with someone like him the "block" option does the job.
