My Nintendo Switch apparently doesn't like the NAT type of my router but I have tried configuring it so that it will be an open NAT type by going into the router settings. Tried the DMZ setting and portforwarding by following the steps online Nintendo provided but none of it seemed to work :/. My router is a Netcomm NF15ACV by the way. All I want to do is play MK8 and ARMS online .
It seems kind of complicated with all these settings that if you mess one part up it won't work but I have no idea which part would be wrong.
@Brodeany I had the same issue as you. I missed out on Splatoon and the Splatoon 2 testfire because of it.
DMZ didnt work for me, and our ports were restricted too.
So, when we called our service provider, they told us to talk to their tech people (can't remember what department it was) but they said to call and ask for a Static IP.
So we called, they set it up, and that allowed us to Port Forward properly. Set up the ports, and now I can play all Nintendo games online.
I can't say for sure it'll work for you, but your issue is pretty much the same one I had. I hope it works for you!
