Topic: Cannot find a switch ANYWHERE

I am not able to find a switch anywhere and I am becoming extremely irritated.

I know gamestop is restocking tommorow but I know I won't make it there in time before it's sold out.

Does anyone have any info of when it will be restocking?

Literally have been to Target, walmart, best buy, game stop, called amazon and I can't get an answer or console anywhere! For almost 2 weeks now!

I am absolutely in shock that this is happening in 2017, how could they not have prepared better for this?

I almost feel like this is some marketing ploy.

It is. They want to sell out. They do it every time. You only have yourself to blame. If you snooze, you lose. Buy Day 1 next time.

Just a guess, but I think that Nintendo intended this launch in March to be a soft launch. I'm looking at walmart and the only games available are just dance 17, Bomberman, 1-2 Switch and BoTW. Nintendo won't say it, but with evidence of an incomplete online, OS lacking of any other app, no hulu or netflix, this is the soft. Testing the waters of sorts, so come christmas, it should be easy to grab and they will sell a lot. Me thinks.

Why would they sacrifice immediate profit to sell out though?

Quite the arrogant remark, but even more so a bad suggestion.

Many products lack refinement and are placed on the shelves too early. As is the case with the Nintendo Switch. Screens scratching, Joy-Cons losing connection, ... There is a lot more that could have been worse, too. It is NEVER advisable to pre-order anything!

Remember No Man's Sky? Mass Effect Andromeda?

Apparently Nintendo fixed the Joy-Con hardware by now and I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd batch has padding on the inside of the dock. I also wanted to wait for first impressions first. Hype is never a good thing. What am I missing? Only Zelda so far and there will be enough time to play that throughout the year.

Yes, it was arrogant. Deliberately. I have a Switch, I bought it Day 1. This is what drives the games industry - early adopters waving it in the face of people who waited for something to become hot property before committing.

And as for advising not to pre-order, how ridiculous! We have a user frustrated by not having a product because they didn't pre-order.

If you pre-order something and it's faulty you just take it back. I pre-ordered. My Switch isn't scratched and doesn't appear to have any issues, and I've played about 50 hours of beautiful handheld Zelda GOAT as my reward for pre-ordering. OP's reward for not having pre-ordered is frustration. Which would anyone rather have?

Oh come on, "never"? When you're dealing with Nintendo, you got to know if you already want it or not, or else it forces you to be waiting for the next batch of restocks. NES classic mini for example, you knew what it was and if you're like me you were already familiar. Got me a pre-order as soon as possible and I'm glad I did or else I'd still be waiting at my local wal-mart that still aren't able to get any.

Production can never be limitless, is my guess. It's just the way it goes, no matter the company, unfortunately.

Your initial post sounds exactly like me and my friend trying to get a 360 back in the day. We camped out at Walmarts, Targets, Gamestops, etc. for months before we were finally able to get one.

But in all honesty, you have a real shot at one today. If you can't get to a physical Gamestop, check online!

2 million sold after 3 weeks is not enough? They are shipping more today then when those sell out they will ship more. You either can be patient or be proactive and make sure you get a switch

Join the club of the other unfortunates who couldn't grab a Switch and wait patiently for a restock.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

You can't ask them to reserve one for you? Kinda like preordering.

I too live in North America and have searched Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Gamestop, Oogie Games and Toys R Us, some of them in more than one location. I spent an hour yesterday looking and about an hour and a half today but nothing. All I got is this bundle offer from Gamestop for $460. It comes with the gray switch, BotW, a BotW guide, a switch travelers case, the DLC download code, this one headphones and mic for switch. All of this sold individually would be $465. Also it says it will be shipped by March 31. This might seem like it is a good deal, but here's why I'm not sure. I have BotW on my Wii U and are over halfway though it. I wasn't even planning to get the switch this soon until I had the money, which I didn't expect to have in March or I wouldn't have bought BotW Wii U, the season pass all but two of the Amiibo for it. So now I have the money and even for this bundle but after spending this I won't have money for any other games. So should I do it?

^ I wouldn't. Gamestop said they are getting more stock this month so I would just try to wait for a stand alone system. So you can get the games you want. Or wait until Mario Kart launches. Trust me there will be systems to be sold.

@Ryu_Niiyama That's what I was thinking. An extra $100 for just junk I won't even use and don't need doesn't really make too much sense.

Don't support Gamestop's bundle crap. Get it from somewhere else without catering to them.

By the way guys, pre-order does not guaranteed an product. I have not get my products three times by pre-ordering in my lifetimes. I mean have you heard of stories when pre-order got cancelled? Mine isn't cancelled but related to stock problem.

@ariaalison
The worst you can do is by calling your local game stores for a stock everyday. I want to also say try checking local game stores on April 1st or 2nd since some people buy them and try to sell them on eBay. Since their exchange trial will be up by then and you can able to get them for regular price.

EDIT: Not sure if allowed but sign up for this link: http://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/consoles/nintendoswitch/

This site help me get some of the amiibo as well Pokemon Go Plus for regular price.

I drove by my Gamestop just out of curiosity at about 9:15 this morning (they open at 10), and I saw one car with someone sitting in the driver seat parked out front. I remember for months after the Wii came out whenever people knew there was a restock there would be a line with dozens of people well over an hour before any store opened. Hopefully this means whenever I do decide to get a Switch (I'm waiting for a bundle or a sale) it won't be too hard.

I find it funny how people freak out during launches. As if getting a console on day-1 or 30 days later made such a big difference. Luckly it's just a console, it's not heart medications.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

@spizzamarozzi I always used to tell people either preorder prior to launch or wait six months after launch. Don't try to scramble in between that ...it isn't worth it.
