@skywake i barely even complained but ok enjoy your 30s. Youre the typical fanboy and you clearly need your safeplace here. I Cant even criticize nintendo's behind the times updates you think are game changing.

I never said that the update was game changing. I said it was a bit over the top to be complaining about an update which added some improvements. Really, if you want to actually make a point of being critical of a toy like the Nintendo Switch? Don't waste all of your energy complaining about improvements. Because the more energy people like yourself spend whining about things that aren't worth whining about the less people will take notice of actual legit critisisms you may have.

@skywake youre the one that made a stink about me mentioning 30s is laughable. Get over yourself. Go back and read my posts. I barely criticized and you put words in my posts saying i was complaining about the version number.
I swear with you fanboyz nintendo can do no wrong, amd everything they do is perfect. Gotcha. Have a good weekend fanboy.

1. I didn't "make a stink" when you complained about the addition of a 30sec video capture. The only person who responded to that whine of yours simply stated that the XBOne had the same limitation. To be honest when in your last post you said "but ok enjoy your 30s" I thought you were talking about my age.....

2. I never said you were complaining about the version number. The original poster made a point of complaining about the version number. Not everything is about you. Really, it's that post and this thread topic in general I'm criticising here. I just don't understand why people for some reason feel the need to complain about what is essentially a toy. To the point where we're complaining about improvements!

To be blunt, I think I understand why people are whining about the Switch to the degree they are. It's doing fairly well on the market. It's as simple as that. And whenever something does well the angsty kids of the world feel the need to tear it down to prove that they're not "sheep". IMO? Who cares, it's a toy. You put a game in and it goes. I couldn't care less about the rest of it

@sanya_exe What did the update do to annoy you exactly?

Just wondering incase I should try and find some speakers for my TV before I buy a Switch...

My TV doesn't normally support external speakers, so I had to buy an adapter that allows you to do this. It worked until the update happened. And even though I noticed that the audio port on the Switch itself works, I can't record videos anymore without unplugging it. And my TV's speakers are crapping out, can't even play Thumper well because the game just sounds like garbage with them.

What's your setup? I assume you have some kind of HDMI -> HDMI + Optical converter or something similar. Those things are always a bit dodgy but it seems a bit weird that the update would break that. Though they did add USB audio support....

I dunno, but it worked...no idea why Nintendo messed it up. Still works fine with Bluray, SNES Classic, and Wii U. o.o

@skywake calm down. drop it already please. you know what I'm really happy about? Is being able to use USB for my headset or speakers. i generally prefer wearing a headset while gaming so this the best update so far. Maybe you can answer my question i do have about the headset.... It's 2.0 audio? i doesn't sound like 7.1 nor 5.1

I wish we could back up our save data in a similar fashion to how it was done on Wii. I understand the need to restrict online profiles from being transferrable across multiple systems, so perhaps online save data should only be transferable one-way (and therefore usable only on the original profile from which it was created).

An even better solution would be to restrict online modes from use if save data attached to a specific user profile is being used via another user profile (i.e. only the original user profile will be able to use that profile for online play). This would give me tremendous piece-of-mind and would be superior to cloud saves IMO as you can effectively duplicate save data so that say, other users can immediately access, say, the full roster of a game without having to pour in 20-100 hours themselves (and only at the expense of not being able to use the profile online unless they start a profile from scratch via their user profile).

I'm still annoyed that Nintendo never updated the Wii so that we can finally back-up save data for online-enabled games since terminating their Wi-Fi Connection service.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Just a random question, can regular Bluetooth headphones work on the Switch? I mean, I do know they don't but is there a possibility of connecting them to a USB audio device which then connects to the Switch in default USB audio fashion?

Headphones are by definition 2.0 and any headset that claims to be "surround" is a waste of money. You have two ears, you don't need more than two speakers in your headphones. Whether or not the Switch supports devices like this would be more of an interesting question. And for that I don't know.

I think you misunderstand why save files are being locked down at all. It's mostly about putting an extra barrier up for piracy. A lot of exploits that opened up previous systems to piracy have been save game exploits. Allowing you to put your saves on the microSD card potentially opens the Switch up to piracy.

@skywake im using the Sony Platinums that are 7.1 with 3D so it sounds like 2.0 hooked up to the switch instead.

@skywake It's interesting how the people moaning about 'safe spaces' are the same ones who refuse to read the comments of their debating partner for fear it might upset their tiny, precious, angtsy little thought-bubble.

"You guys need safe spaces to protect yourselves from opinions you don't like. It's pathetic."

gives opinion

"I didn't read what you said. It might have made me consider your viewpoint, which would be upsetting and offensive. Leave me alone."

Cloud updates are tied to a paid service on the other two if I'm not mistaken. Nintendo will probably do the same.

Only PS4. On XB1 all you need is an Xbox Live account, it doesn't matter whether you're a silver member (free) or gold member (paid) you still get cloud saves.

We got a 2nd switch in the house recently, when moving one of the accounts to the 2nd switch, along with its games, saves stayed on the 1st console and so progress was left behind. The features added by this update is exactly what people need when they buy a new Switch.

Now, of course, I wish I could backup/save game saves individually... it's ALL or NOTHING right now, so I can't get my saves transfered from the 1st console without deleting my account there (and thus losing saves for games I play, but don't own). So like you, I wish it was better... but that doesn't mean it's useless. It's useless to me, but it's useful for many other people.

We can only make assumptions and we don't really know why Nintendo did this this way. Maybe they want to make individual game saves a paid feature.. part of their cloud offer? maybe it's just not ready and it will come later on... I see people compare the OS with the PS4, maybe you don't remember, but when the PS4 came out it was missing a LOT of features... you couldn't organize your games, you couldn't play media, hell you couldn't even pause downloads. Sony brought all this at their own pace, with incremental updates. You're saying it's rushed... it's not, it plays games, it's stable, it's released to do the job and does it well. They'll improve the OS in time, just like MS and Sony do with their consoles. It's possible also they're not ready for us to access save files for security reasons, maybe they're yet to secure that aspect and opening access to saves is a can of worms for them... depending on the way it's loaded, whether it's to prevent homebrew being loaded or people cheating game saves... who knows.

In any case, it's good to have this update and being able to transfer accounts. Let's hope we'll be able to transfer individual game saves going forward.
