Would it work? Let's say i have lotta money that I don't know what to do with and I want to invest them into something. i'm not worried if it's not profitable - I basically want to buy myself a game for a few million dollars.
How much Sega would ask for Alien Isolation on Switch?
p.s i'm actually poor AF so don't get the
wrong idea here...
p.s.s. yeah i know it's a stupid question...
@MkMrkGrtGn Everybody likes money, even SEGA. Although the announcement of the Megadrive Collection coming to every console but the Switch makes it seem like that might not be the case,if you were to make them an offer they can't refuse I'm sure they will find a way to make a port of Alien Isolation for Switch a reality.
Go look at Kickstarter or Indiegogo if you want to fund or support up and coming game developers. What your asking isn't for those of us on here with help with that you need to do your homework and find whom you want support.
If you could pay at least as much as they estimate another game of the same kind would gain from normal customers then for sure you would have good chances to be able to buy that port.

@SwitchForce indie developers make games on their own according to their own inspiration to make other people experience their games. This is exactly the opposite in my opinion than paying someone else to make a game crafted just for yourself, according to your requirements, and made expecially to be played by yourself.
I don't think you can have much fun playing your own game when you are the one who created it. People who create games do so just for the others. It is just an act of generosity in a sense. You get paid I know but you need to be motivated to do it for somebody else to get through it

It depends how much influence you want to have on a game. If you wanted to control the game's direction and have a big involvement on it, then you'd set yourself up as a big investor of the game and have regular meetings with the directors of the company producing the game. Obviously it would take a large amount of shares to get this much control.
Otherwise, you could get an agent to broker a deal between you and the game developer, like "I will put 400,000 dollars towards development of X game on the Switch", and they would see to that you both uphold your side of the deal.
Either way, I think talking to people who work with money, like banks and financial advisors would be a good start for this sort of endeavour
@LuckyLand, you obviously forgot it takes many $$ to get started and R&D doesn't come cheap. There are always indie developers out there like I said you yourself need to do your homework if you want to create your own game and get support.
@SwitchForce ok but my point is, this thread is not about creating the game you want to create, but paying others to create the game you want to play.
And by the way, the chance to commission a game crafted just for me according to my own taste is a dream I've always had too.
It would be a game very similar to Oblivion probably. An improved Oblivion meant to be played with a gamepad in third person perspective.
