Hey guys hopefully you can help me out. I'm in the Navy and travelling in Europe and found a Nintendo switch in Italy will I have any problems other than the adaptor and wattage if I bring it home to Canada can I buy games in Canada will it all work out?
Thanks.
@illfatedgamer Yes you can and you won't have any problems. You can also make extra accounts with various regions Eshops and buy from any one.Set your main accounts region to Canada though.
You should be able to set your language in initial setup settings. The system itself is region free, so there won't be any compatibility issues. The charger itself may be different though - the cord is usb-C, which is fine, but the dock for the cord that plugs into the wall will likely not be the right voltage.
@flightsaber Voltage is not an issue. Only physical differences in plugs. Most modern AC adapters (aka wall worts, power bricks, etc), can handle the range of 100v-240v. This covers all countries. If you look at the specifications on Nintendo's site, you can confirm this. If the plug style is different, a simple "shape" adapter is all you'd need. Always read the labels closely however and do your homework.
@tonyv Thanks tonyv. I have mine now, and can confirm the Switch handles up to 240v. I've been a bit leery with consoles in China ever since I found out my American Xbox One couldn't handle 240v and needed a transformer. Just Microsoft skimping on extras I think.
