The following amiibo grant these:

Wolf Link & Midna: grants access to Wolf Link who has a certain number of hearts. The default is 3 unless you beat a level in the Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess HD, so then he'll have that number of hearts when you beat that level.

Smash Link: unlocks Epona the first time and gives random drops after you register Epona at a stable.

OoT Link: unlocks the OoT Link costume. There is a chance to get each piece in the chest that drops, but it didn't take me long to get it.

WW Link (Smash and 30th): each one unlocks a chance to get a WW costume. You get two chances here, one for each amiibo.

8-Bit Link: unlocks a chance to get the original hero costume from LoZ.

The other Zelda amiibos drop chests along with specific types of items (flowers, fish, meat, etc.).

Yes, thats what the Wiki says as well.
But my question is: Are these obtainable otherwise ?
If an Amiibo only has a set chance of unlocking a costume, are you locked out of it when it doesn't drop the first time around ? Can they be found without Amiibos ?

Smash Link may also give the Twilight Tunic.

Also Sheik may give her mask, WW Zelda may give the WW shield, Smash Zelda may give the Twilight Bow, Ganondorf may give some kind of exclusive Sage Sword.

The costumes and weapons tied to the amiibo are exclusive to them, but they're also just reskins of things you can get normally without them.

Bloop.

I have come to understand that some of the items are Amiibo exclusive, but none are the best items and you can find better items in the game. Also any cool weapons you can get are still going to break as they are used so even if you get a cool drop it won't last forever.

As mentioned above - the clothing is just for looks and have similar stats to items that can be obtained in game.

Yeah, the weapon breaking is absolute nonsense if you ask me. In general, not just with exclusive weapons.
I had the discussion that a crafting system would have been way more interesting. Instead of finding powerful weapons, you find casting molds, collect "trash" weapons, smelt them and make a proper one out of it. Best of both worlds so to speak.

But yeah, im mainly after the costumes. I have a weakspot for stuff like that, i must admit ^^
Getting my hands on the 8-bit Link and the OoT one...thats another story in and of itself...

But thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated !
