@Rykoshe Idk where you're from but in Croatia (where I live) there's no dedicated Nintendo support either so I decided to contact UK support and they've put me in contact with they're team in Greece which is in charge of support for the entire Balkan region. I've sent my left joycon, they've handled it all awesomely and fast, didn't cost me a dime

@SonOfVon i'm from romania...and here there is no dedicated nintendo support.not even on the e-shop...so if you can't fix it yourself or turn it in you are pretty much screwed.

how many times should i try to the process?

@kamalmuntasir i did it 10 times one day, then let the console to charge.then repeated it for another couple of days...if you don't have nintendo support or the right tools,it's the only way to get it to boot up.cause it's a booting problem, the consoles internal hard drive it's not powering up properly cause of fluke with the batery cable not being conected right in the muzzle so it sometimes shorts out...mostly when you update console and it's not plugged in to charge

@Rykoshe contact UK support, tell them your situation and they'll hook you up. good luck

@Rykoshe I have the same issue as you. I can’t get past the boot logo screen. When you held the 3 buttons for 60 seconds, does that work in deleting all the data, because you can’t get to recovery mode because of the screen being stuck. If this works I could very easily fix this as I have cloud saves for all my games. Thanks.

@BilalPlays31 When the Switch battery gets run all way down, the Switch won't let you boot up the console until after 30 minutes of charging. It's the same with when phone batteries are run all the way down.

Holding the power button down just forces the console to reboot - As long as your game is closed, no data will be lost. (edited this part as @Northwind rightly points that out below )

I'm not sure holding other buttons down will do anything for you. I could be wrong, but after helping lots of people here that cannot boot up their Switch, pressing multiple buttons has never been needed, and never comes up in Nintendo Support. (I'm open to the idea if anyone has any support page that presses multiple buttons). The only people that couldn't get their switch booted up were VERY rare hardware failure (like fan failure).

Resetting the AC adapter is usually what solves a Switch that wont power up, or Switch wont display on TV. But you see some load screen, so, I think you ran your battery real low, nothing bad. Just charge for 30 minutes. See if that solves it.

@Northwind so when my switch is completely drained out of battery, to the point where it wont even show the low battery icon, how can i factory reset the switch from there? Do i have to hold the power butfon for a while, 60 secs, or should i keep trying to boot my switch up?

You guys realize this thread is 3 years old.

@Eel looks like we have a zombie.

@Tasuki .....BilalPlays31 asked a question. So, I answered. And yes, I knew this was an old thread that a brand new user had revived. And every time I help someone that revived an old thread, it's fairly safe to assume I looked, and know it's an old thread. Every time this happens, I'd prefer if you address the user that necro posted, rather than a blanket statement that everyone here is reckless.

@Eel @Tasuki I'm always with you on following the rules, and not reviving old threads. In this case, the alternative didn't seem much better. By which, I mean, would it be better that BilalPlays31 make yet another of the 50-100 existing "can't turn on console" type Switch threads? In a situation like this, when a brand new user joins NL just to ask a tech question, on average, the chances are extremely low that they will be posting again. Constantly reminding people of the rules gets old at times, and as a tired NL forum liker, it seemed like a waste of my time bringin up the rule. So, that's why I didn't say anything about reviving a old thread here.

@WoomyNNYes So how can I get my console to boot up. It's been the same for about 2 days now. Its just showing the nintendo switch logo and it wont boot up any further than that. Should I try formatting the sd card to exFAT and see if that works? Or because the hard drive isnt booting up the OS, should i leave the switch just charge for a while to give it some power? Thanks a lot guys, I really really appreciate all your help, it helps me sooo much. Stay safe!

@BilalPlays31 I'm fairly certain your issue has nothing to do with your sd card. The Switch will boot up with or without an SD card. You're welcome to search Nintendo Support, but I'm pretty sure the two things below will be the only things you can do to solve the situation (if you can solve it without repair).

1. Reset the AC adapter
2. Charge the console for 30 minutes. If the Switch battery power gets run down very low, the console won't let you turn it on until you've charged it for 30 minutes. It's baked into the software.

Below is a link to Nintendo support for directions for Reset ingAC Adapter. Be sure to check each of the three outcomes at the bottom of this support page. One of outcomes gives directions saying the Switch may need to charge for 30 minutes.

If neither of the above things solve your issue, it's likely an indicator that there's a hardware failure, and a part needs replacing. Whats likely happening is, the Switch starts booting up, when it checks systems it discovers something isn't working(like the fan), and won't boot up further (to prevent overheating), probably shuts back down. If that's the deal, I'm sorry it's happened. I'm not saying it's definitely the fan, but that is something I've heard with the Switch - very rare.

@WoomyNNYes I have tried this and it hasnt worked. I figured it was a hardware problem. Sent it to repairs. I'm not worried about losing any data as I have Nintendo Online. Hopefully my switch will work. Wish me luck and I appreciate your help!
