Topic: Bayonetta 1, 2, and 3?!

My only complaint about Bayonetta is how ridiculous enemies look like. Graphics are nice but I can’t stand design. That’s one of the reasons why I didn’t get it for Switch.
I can’t even force myself to play it again on Wii U because those ugly poopers

Finally made time to get through hard mode and go back and get all the collectibles in 2. Now I’m on Inf. Climax, and I have no idea how I was ever any good at this.

Also I like Tag Climax but I hate the people who play it. Half the time I get stuck with someone who doesn’t know their limits, and chooses a boss fight and ups the difficulty to max. I don’t claim to be good, but at least I know what is and isn’t possible.

@Grumblevolcano Do you have Bayonetta 2? Maybe try Co-op together if you have it?

Whereas I'm hardly stocking my cupboard with gold and platinum chapter trophies, the game hasn't actually kicked my butt to the game over screen....until now.

This bloody boss in chapter 11 hit me with an attack that turned Bayonetta into a defenceless little girl, and then proceeded to kill her.

An outrage. But rather cool at the same time.

My local toysrus is doing 20% off video games and was able to get this for 45 bucks. Should I play 1 first or dive right into 2?

@Arcamenel Bayonetta 1 first. Bayonetta 2 is better, but going from Bayonetta 1 to 2 will really make you appreciate all the tweaks Bayonetta 2 made to the gameplay.

Is it normal that even on easy difficulty some chapters are really kicking my a**?

I decided to play this game again (first one), and I'm gonna go ahead and ask. Am I missing something with Temperantia? It seems there's some attacks I cannot avoid at all, it's quite annoying, tried looking to see if I could jump to another platform with hid punch (not the one where you jump onto his arm) and instead I take damage anyways. Other attacks where I'm supposed to jump to another platform only works sometimes...ugh.

@Joeynator3000 It's been a while, but I do recall that boss being a bit annoying. Which attacks are you having trouble with exactly?

@Arcamenel Yes, it's pretty normal. These games have a bit of a learning curve, it's not strange at all to struggle a bit on certain parts. Grace and Glory gave me a lot of headaches on my first run.

Holy cow, that duo gave me an harder time than most of the bosses in the whole game to be honest... the dreaded uppercut attack had me rege-quitting more than a few times.

I'm a little confused on the story front regarding the order of events. Which game actually comes first because the certain parts of Bayonetta 2 suggests it's a prequel to Bayonetta but other parts of Bayonetta 2 suggests it's a sequel to Bayonetta.

Technically speaking, it's a sequel since it happens after the first Bayonetta. However, the events in it affect the past as well.

Very late to the thread but I've never played a bayonetta game. I did play the demo on wii u for a brief period and it seemed fun. Is the game hard to get into for first timers?( Either 1 or 2). Or is it straight back n slash and level to level? Or is this a game for a niche audience? The recent reveal of astral chain has me interested in trying these games out. Thank you guys.

@nintendobynature The key tip about Platinum's games (of course it applies to every game with a difficulty select but is extremely important with Platinum's games) is there's nothing wrong with playing on an easier difficulty.
