Hey ppl,

so i got my nintendo switch at launch day, i have checked EVERYTHING about it and it was NOT a defective unit.
i have been using it for few weeks now and lately i have noticed some issues with the battery indicator, i think its not showing the right percentage left for the battery.

for example, it used to charge for 3 hours, but lately its charging for 1:50hours-2:20hours from 5% to 100%, im getting from 100% to 1% in like an hour and a half of playing zelda and its still active for another around an hour and a half on that 1% which fits the 3 hours nintendo announced it will last with zelda, when i charge my switch fully to 100% in sleep mode, i afterwards turn it off (of course from the manu) and after few hours when i turn it on to play it will show me around 40-80% battery (even tho the switch will last 3 hours on zelda).

also charged it to 100% and put it on sleep mode to test it and it sure did not move from 100% for long period of time as it is supposed to.

is there a firmware issue that is going on here that i should be aware of so i wont panic that my battery is defective. :<

Well, it is an issue we are currently discussing here, if it can help!

But still, we all have different experiences. I also have the same issue that you're having right now: simply put, I guess the firmware can't read the proper battery charge and I hope they'll fix it.
I don't think it is strictly an hardware issue since our Switches can play for the proper amount of time, and I read online that this can be a common problem for some devices, like phones and tablets.

It's a pain not to be able to know the correct charge of the battery but, at least (even if it's not comforting at all) the Switch works for the whole time span it was promised to work.

It's dangerous to go alone!
