This would be a perfect game for me since collectathons were my favorite genre as a kid! Bring it to Wii U and I will buy!

Super Mario Maker 2 Levels:

A Frolic through the Forest
M5T-48G-5XF

The Trials of the Haunted House
4VR-6KC-Q1G

Platforming Peril
LCS-S3G-XQG

No, they don't. Duck Hunt wouldn't make sense as a collectathon game, the concept has nothing to do with it. If they're going to revive Duck Hunt, it should be as an open world shooter (or 3D hunting game for people who are really technical about what constitutes a shooter).

They way the play in smash absolutely feels reminiscent of Banjo Kazooie's gameplay mechanics. Make the same collectathons style game just with the Dog and Duck as the main charaters instead. They're very expressive in smash too with goofy over reactions so they'd have enough personality for their own game. It'd be great.

Yup, no similarities or possibilities for genre-bending reboots whatsoever. I mean, it's not like Nintendo's ever brought back an old IP in a different context before. Because that would just be silly.

And it's not like having shooting elements wouldn't be possible in a collectathon. Because that would just be silly.

And it's definitely not like Banjo-Tooie had FPS sections. Because that would just be silly.

Nope. Not possible. None.

Man, I am playing Banjo-Tooie on N64, once again. I love Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, the characters are great, not only Banjo and Kazooie but every single character, and the music. I read this same story some years ago, coming from the same Twitter account but with a different name. They changed the name to https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames.

I hope this time is TRUE!! And I hope there is a Banjo and a Tooie (with different names). What a pair!

I never played these games, but everyone raves about them. I hope they get this game out on WiiU, as I would love to see the modern interpretation of it, and get a chance to play it.

As excited as I'd like to be, 6 people are going to have a megaton of work to do to create anything close to resembling a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie...

3 people made Ironfall...sure...it's tough. But, a lot of small studios make some amazing games, these days.

It's not the quality I'm questioning, but the overall capacity. Anyone who's played both Banjo games probably knows that it's no small feat of a game, lol... A lot of indie games take years as it is, and they're very small games. That's mostly because it's a garage band size of developers working on it!

The thing is that first person platforming doesn't really work. You need to be able to see the ground to effectively platform, and you can't do that in first person. If you noticed, the FPS sections in Banjo-Tooie were gimmicks, the gameplay was completely different and there was no platforming in them. So you can either make it first person or you can make it a platformer, not both.

Because Third Person Shooting is not a thing, Am I right?

No.

I didn't say it wasn't. But if they did go that route, it wouldn't quite be the same as Banjo-Kazooie, defeating the purpose of it being a spiritual sequel.

Brighter image from Kirkhope's Twitter. I think the character in front might be a gecko.

I'd prefer a bear, like Banjo's cousin, as innocent as Banjo. And Kazooie's daughter, as rude as Kazooie LOL
