Another new mode. It's an up to 10 player challenge to hit the most targets in the time limit. Getting big Smash Bros. vibes off of this game, perhaps there's more hidden inside...
Noooo, wish the Eastern Time was earlier...I'll be at my brothers wedding tonight so I will have to wait until tomorrow night to give it a shot, have fun today everyone...And I have an hour before anyone is coming in the office I could have gotten some good play time in!
some YouTubers already have a copy, I know they put in the work to get that recognition but it sure would be nice to have a copy already even if it wasn't for free
I just realized what this game reminds me of. A PS1 game called Robo Pit:
You customize your robot, choosing from a variety of body parts, including arms that do different things (shoot arrows, stab enemies, etc.) Ranged attacks were a big part of the game. You either won by lowering your opponent's health down or knocking them out of the ring. You built up a special meter as you played, like a fighting game, and unleashed a special attack once it was full.
^The EB games pre order bonus is nice!
The amazon prime 20% off pre-ordered games is too good to pass up though XD
Excited for the test punch, hope to see you all there

For me, I'm not too concern about character design. However, I feel like the characters could use some downloadable costumes. Changing a character's outfit could be a future possibility. Not only customizing clothes, but also changing hairstyles. Not so sure about Barq/Byte, Master Mummy, and Helix. Maybe they should stick to recolors?
Almost time to test my internet and see if I can stream an online multiplayer game, so yeah I'm gonna stream the TestPunch on Twitch.
The link is in my sig, no idea how it'll be set up but maybe I'll end up fighting you guys, who knows.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Well just tried the beta. I like the concept and I think it works well my issue is I think this will get very repetitive very quickly and the 4 person battles all you can really see is arms flying everywhere and it almost becomes a bashing the buttons type of affair.
Well my hands were getting sweaty for some reason (also I need food, lol), so I'm not going for the full hour. But I played for a while, streamed it. Was doing ok, didn't expect to actually win matches, though. xD

I had problems switching with joy-cons but pro controller is simple. With the pro controller I had problems guarding. Did anyone else try both?
That's enough ARMS for one night. Movement in this game controls like mud — that's not a dig, that's just a fact. I don't see why minuscule movement speed has to be a feature of fighting games.
So, I lost almost every match because why should I try to like competitive MP games. I do not think the party mode is good. The matchmaking, test mode, and loading times are all great; but volleyball, 2v2, and 3 player free-for-all kinda suck. Way too much going on, and the volleyball did not respond great even after I learned that throws are like setting the ball. A weird quirk of the matchmaking seems to be that it won't create more than three games at any given time, at least as far as I could tell.
The good news is that punching feels good, and Helix was way more responsive than I had expected. I was good at grabs, but basically nothing else, and the motion controls would sometimes misread nothing as a punch or two punches close together as a grab. Can anyone tell which arms slow your movement when you punch?
The motion controls are terrible. Perhaps my mannish movements are too course for this game, but it seemed like this game was constantly mixing up inputs: it would guard when I was trying to back up, punch when I was trying to block, etc. Way too many different actions are mapped to the movement of the joycons. It brought back memories of the Wii era in all the wrong ways.
Also, when I switched control schemes to play with the buttons, the controller would randomly switch back to motion controls, which completely threw me off.
I'm going to keep playing, but so far, I'm really, really disappointed with this.
