I really wish this was a launch game, this has gotten my intrest more than Splatoon 2 ans Mario.

The only thing that worries is it may have launch day glorified demo syndrome, as I'm not seeing much solo player content.

Did they just say on the treehouse that you can have a normal button set up for the game?

@Haywired Traditional controls are confirmed, so I guess it's still possible to play on the go in handheld mode.

Sweet, I guess I'll keep an eye on this, then. Not that I wouldn't utilize the motion controls, but I needed the traditional option for longer sessions. I'm a lightweight, man...

I've spotted the game listed as June 30th at the bottom of this page but the game page itself is saying something else. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/1-2-switch

Man, I was skeptical at first when they unveiled ARMS, but I must say this game has me excited. It should be a launch title, in my opinion, but it's probably going to be my first Switch game anyway (depends on if I get it launch day or a month or two after).

The game has me excited now,

At first I wasn't sure what to think, but after watching some gameplay I'm convinced this is going to be the next Splatoon. Nintendo is on a roll with their new IP

That's because you're looking at the wrong page. That's for 1-2-Switch, a completely different game...

Try reading what I wrote again.

Yeah, it does look promising, but now I want to know more; character roster size? single-player mode? story/tournament? other modes in general? It feels like we still need another Direct to cover the games that were shown during the event.

That's what the Treehouse is for but they spent so much time juet explaining the concept and trying to reassure people it's actually a fun game.

@jump Well, it's obvious that this is just an early demo, only a part of the game and they weren't going to talk about the stuff that's not in the demo anyway, but a glimpse of what else is in there would be neat.

I think the music works really well with the game, instead of justing matching it to the graphics they've matched it to the gameplay and I could easily see it adopted to sports events.

Something odd I've noticed about the characters is that they actually don't have regular arms at all... the "springs" are actually a part of their body (except maybe the girl in the mech), and they can be swapped.

Looks super fun honestly. It took me a bit too warm up to it, but this could have a smash Bros level of simplicity hiding the complexity behind it.

Hopefully it has single-player content. If so, hopefully you can play it comfortly in table-top mode (or there are also some regular controls). Because using the dock is not a option for me, since my tv doesn't have a HDMi port.

They've said it works with a "normal button set up" already.

@Octane,

How much does such a cable cost, and what is it called?

@jump,

That's good to hear!

Thanks for the replies guys!

@Henmii Depends on what kind of TV you have, probably an old one since it hasn't an HDMI port. RCA, SCART? You can find various HDMI to [insert what you're looking for] cables online. They're not expensive, around $/€5-20.
