Yeah, that Konami collection is very barebones release. I think they just bundled up those quite early arcade archives releases, which have been released separately on PS4 (some only in japan) earlier. I'm not sure, but I think those also might be missing those online learderboards, high-score and caravan modes etc. which all hamster releases now have. We'll at least there is that one save point on each game and the games itself run fine.

Not sure, but the japan version of the collection might have the japan versions. It's more expensive at least.

@GFoyle Well, more reason to wait for a price drop

I tried the Xbox 360 version of Final Fight, which is the arcade rom emulated in a pack with Magic Sword, and there is an achievement for beating the game with no more than 18 credits. At first I though it had to be easy to achieve, but I credit feeded the game and beat it... And the achievement didn't pop up. I wasn't really counting, but I was certain I hadn't used up all 18... I was wrong.

I want to get as far as possible with 1 credit with this challenge, but there are really tough places and enemies, especially the flame throwers and the final boss, really cheap in my opinion.

@Corneel This is what makes this game special in a world with millions of shmups. I already had Alpha Mission 2 in ACA Neo Geo because it's one of the few that have been on sale, and I enjoyed it... At least the first stage. In the second I get crushed quickly.

But I got the first entry with the SNK collection, yet I wasn't particularly inclined to play it. Reading your post I think it will be as fun to play as the second one.

@Corneel Nice find about ALPHA MISSION. I’m impressed you got that score even without finishing the first area?!

Yesterday I finally tried Puzzle Bobble in my Raspberry. I have to say that having played the second entry I can clearly see the improvements made.

Anyway, I don't know how to score high by just popping bubbles, but they do reward you for being quick. Not that much as in PB2, but if you're not quick clearing the stage your score is certainly low. Any tips?

@Lroy So they reward you for taking risks, regardless of the time spent, am I right?

@Moroboshi876 He is getting more points by clearing large stacks of bubbles all in one go: he makes sure he has a clear shot to the top bubble and then stacks more and more from it until he then gets the colour he wants to pop that top, holding layer buddles. Easier said than done for sure.

@Lroy Yeah, that's what I meant. After all it's taking risks, because it could easily go south. But if you have the chance to play PB2 I think there is the fastest the better.

@Moroboshi876 Yes. I’ve played both games in the arcades back in the day and own both games on Switch. Wish BUBBLE BOBBLE would hurry up and come to Switch.

@Lroy Let's hope it will. It's available in PS4. But I don't know if it was released back when Hamster releases didn't allow to choose region version nor include Hi-Score and Caravan modes.

This Konami Anniversary Collection releases are from that time and they're barebones.

I wonder if the recent release of Time Pilot suffers from that too...

@Moroboshi876 Don’t own a PS4 so can’t compare. I’d be surprised if the recent stand alone TIME PILOT release didn’t have the usual Hamster leaderboards and options.

@Lroy I think they added those modes in Renegade (as well as the in this case the so important region choice) for the Switch, being absent on PS4, but if the Konami Arcade Classics are like people say, barebones, I'm afraid Renegade will be just an exception when it comes to old PS4-only Arcade Archives...

Super selection again buddy. Put my votes in. Remind me, when’s the deadline for the current set of challenges?

Very hard to choose in Nintendo arcade games section. In run and gun one I voted for two games I have but I didn't try yet. Just to have a reason to.

Well, after I learned about the strategy for getting points in the first Puzzle Bobble I've been playing and this is my score. I'm running out of time and I don't know if I'll play much more, so for now it's my score. Maybe I'll return to it if I continue to absolutely suck in Alpha Mission.

It's a Raspberry with the Neo Geo emulator, by the way.
